I think you're joking here but he looks like he might have potential. Let's stay the Tyson comparisons until he steps up in competition though
Wilder is green but he aint a bum either. I could see him making some noise in 2012/13.....we'll know more about his chin liabilities by then as well....... for people who This content is protected write him off because of his chin, I think you show your true ignorance. After all, Lennox Lewis was thought to be chinny during his rise to the top, proved everyone wrong, then was brutally KOd only to go forward from brutal KOs into the ATG list, arguably top 5. Wlad Klitschko has showed questionable punch resistance on more than a few occasions, but the same can be said for him....ATG top 5, arguably. Wilder COULD be the next big HW. And maybe the American savior for some.:deal
how far do you think this guy will go ? i think he has a load of bad habits he has picked up fighting lesser guys but has the natural attributes needed to succeed in boxing, he reminds me of a blank canvas of audley harrison ... however we have not seen his mental aspect yet, i want to see him cope against a guy who comes to win big
Like you said, he has some bad habits, but his power is undeniable. His speed is waaaaayyyyyy above the average of the top tier, and his defense looks decent when it's been tested. Seems there are so many K2 haters out there that these new kids aint **** if they aint fight on the pace of Helenius or Potvetkin(once upon a time). Those guys are exceptions to the rule, but if we take a deeper look at our recent great champs like Vitali, Wlad, Holy, Lewis, Ruiz, Bowe etc, we see that most of them stepped up at an average age of 29, with about 23-25 wins. I'll write Wilder off when he's nearly KOd by a journeyman, only to be saved when the ref immediately calls a halt when he finally turns the table on his batterer for the first time getting him on trouble. See Tyson Fury.:deal I'd love to see how fast Wilder would dispose of Austin, Beck, McBride or even Walker. All those would be decent progression fights, all winnable, and with his massive power, a devastating KO is almost as surety.
He's so damn raw. Doesn't know **** about boxing, but the physical tools are amazing. His entire fight plan at this point is just to wait on the bum to cyle into his power hand.
Wilder could be the next Tye Fields who can build a pretty record but will get KO'd at the contender level, or he could be a legit contender in time. I'll wait another year or two to see how he progresses.
