Let's switch hats for a minute. Say something bad about your favorite fighters. Say something good about your least favorite fighters. Here's mine- Favorites Liston- A thug mentality until the end. Marciano - Fought dirty. Louis - Dumb- barely able to speak a coherent sentence. Least favorites- Ali- Brilliant speed and ring smarts. Patterson- A true gentleman. A good man.
favorites: McCall - lakt e left huk end kombineishens Tua - lakt e rait hend Holyfield - woz e leser teknishen dan hiz overol faiting valyu, wich mins det hi woz mor relaid on panch rezistanc, panch end strengs Toney - woz 2 dependent on hiz oponents kaming 4ward, lakt ril panching pawer, hiz chin gets over8ed e bit, inkluding bay mayself in d past, relaid 2 mach on hiz rait hend wich feild him mach mor often dan not. Some of my favorites, either in terms of rooting for them, or just loving to watch them box: Mike Tyson: front-runner, prone to frustration and to look for one bomb Julian Jackson- average chin Manny Pacquiao- not the best ring-cutter, can get pretty sloppy and reckless at times Floyd Mayweather- can be selective to a fault with punch selection (not enough combos), tendency to cherry-pick opponents, always forearms/elbows opponents and uses open gloves, but whines whenever the dirty tactics come back to him. James Toney- inconsistent, poor training and eating habits, sometimes fought like he didn't care. Matthew Saad Muhammad- not the best defensive fighter (although that is part of what made him such a like able fighter) Some of my least favorites: Lennox Lewis: just a great fighter. Joe Calzaghe: excellent workrate, very good fighter Vitali Klitschko: excellent training habits and ability to perform at advanced age. Good at measuring the distance and using footwork. Adrien Broner: Wladimir Klitschko: excellent offensive tools, effective at gauging distance.
Favorites Tyson - lacked discipline and the mentality without the right people around him Hagler - even though I think he barely won, had a foolish game plan for first 4 rds vs Leonard Hearns - bad survival instincts (no clinching in first Leonard fight) Sugar Ray Rob - not really anything bad to say about him in the ring. He was that good Willie Pep - punching power is probably his only drawback Jack Dempsey - lost to competition he shouldn't have James Toney - didn't take care of his body Roy Jones and Bernard Hopkins - should have found a way to make the rematch happen in their primes Holmes - discredits a lot of other great fighters (Foreman, Joe Louis, he didn't discredit Marciano, the truth is Marciano actually couldn't carry Holmes jockstrap) least both Klitschkos - good jabs and Vitali is tough Ray Leonard - fast technical and exciting Mayweather - great defensively and accurate offensively Calzaghe - fast Oscar - good all around Marciano - real real tough
Favorites Charley Burley: Looking just at his record he's overrated by some people trapped by the mystique of the Row (that was painful). Couldn't deal with swarmers. SRR: Navigated his career quite carefully. Could have stomped most of his WW competition by sheer size. Was an absolute ******* outside the ring specially regarding money. Ezzard Charles: Boring outside the ring. More hittable than some people would like to admit IMO. Tony Canzoneri: Erratic. Joe Louis: Unproven against southpaws. Conn I will forever raise questions about his invincibility. Lena Horne. Éder Jofre: Not the best BW competition ever. Carlos Monzon: Same thing. Oh, and there was that thing with his wife too. Not cool. Benny Leonard anyone? I honestly can't think of anything without stretching it a little. Least favorites: Wladmir Clinchko: Tremendously difficult to deal with. One of the best HW jabs of AT, one of the best tools in the division. ATG (God that hurts.) Naseem Hamed, Michael Nunn: Talented beyond question. SRL: Smart, skilled, tough, powerful, quick as fack.
All time favorite was Hagler- really hard to think of anything negative to say, about this dude, he was a real genuine guy, if anything he was unprepared against Leonard and pissed away the 1st half of the fight costing him the biggest fight of his career.. Favorite Holyfield, got mixed up with steriods, and peds that was bull****, and was stupid with his money, thats why he ended up with serious financial problems.. Favorite Tommy Morrison, poor lifestyle choices, drinking, drugs, reckless promiscuity which led to him getting HIV, and dying at a young age.. Least favorite Tyson, seems to be wising up after so many years of stupidity... Least favorite James Toney, showed a lot of heart in the 2nd Peter fight where he took a serious beating.. Least favorite, Ricardo Mayorga, seriously i can't think of anything good to say about this turd, except he fought a good fight against Vernon Forrest..
favourite: aaron pryor - was so open many topclass counterpunchers would beat him least favourite: bernard hopkins - schools anyone who isnt athletically superior, only a few in history.
Favourite...Tyrell Biggs....weak puncher, lacked stamina, had an addictive personality which manifested in a drug problem followed by a drink problem...failed to make the most of bags of talent. (All the courage in the world though and a gent) Mike Tyson...Tw#t but if i was in a ruck i wouldnt mind him on side....total nutter...and quick !
