His chin isn't a worry, it's OK enough, recovery was more of a concern but with his defence he isnt the easiest to tag clean, the major concern for me is his lack of power. He has the skills to outbox most but as the bout goes past the half way point how do the elite opponents start to fair as they get in to a rhythm will the walk him down?

Haney stood in and got hit plenty last night. Somebody with no chin would have been KO'd. I applaud him making the fight more exciting by trading leather, but definitely not smart.

For all his speed & Mayweather posturing he actually doesn't do anything special really.. Broner used to do all that .. his footwork isn't anything to write home about , he just works off the jab rolling with the punches , it looks cute but he's not really a multi faceted fighter.. doesn't fight great on the inside , moves in straight lines, lacks power & physicality .. he's quick & athletic but I get Dirrell vibes about him.. still young tho but the wrestling isn't a great look for someone ppl make out is one of the best defensive fighters at the lower weights..

    Well I disagree.

I believe it's a failure when you are calling yourself the best at lightweight, pretending you're the next Mayweather and fight old men Gamboa and Linares back to back and fail to score a stoppage.

Hearn stuck Haney in with Gamboa and Linares because they are old "names" who have seen better days and expected Haney to score spectacular wins to boost his profile and claim to being number one.

Also, I'll tell you how unimpressive Haney was.. Hearn mouthed off all week, saying after Linares he will make Teo a "HUGE" offer..

After Hearn watched that it all changed rather quickly, Hearn is now saying he BELIEVES they have the money to make a "good" offer (not huge) and they can even do the fight on ESPN PPV meaning he won't be paying for it.

Hearn went from investing in and backing Haney with a "huge" offer to basically offering the fight to ESPN in 36 minutes.

It was unimpressive and a failure if you thought, believed or expected Haney to score spectacular wins and Haney failed.

Very good fighter who has a lot of tools to work with and improve. Far from some bum you would think he was reading this forum.

Eddir Hearn saying a fight could be done on espn ppv is the same message his said numerous times regarding his fighters.

His never said a fighter of his couldn't fight on another platform for more money.

The actual context of the interview was Hearn saying they want to make the fight and his not putting up an obstacle such as the network it appears on. Not sure how you managed to take it as 'Hearn doesn't want to pay the money to stage the fight '.

That's not what he said at all.

This. Being hurt after 10 rounds after being caught clean a few times in the fight isn't the same as being koed or seriously hurt as soon as he gets touched. If he was such a fighter with no chin Haney would of been stopped in the 11th as soon as Linares hit him. His legs were gone and shouldn't have taken much to put him down for someone who apparently has no chin.

Also since when have the other champions in the division been murderous punchers!

Did you hear him repeat the "HUGE" offer comments after the fight?

Because he kept mentioning the "HUGE" offer before the fight anybody who would listen.

Hearn is about to go all in on DAZN and one of the first things he proposing doing is letting his "future star of boxing" go on another platform.. all because he don't want to stand in the way.. really?

Ok, well we must have taken different things from what he said.

It's not just letting his fighter go another platform. It's the same message he has said in regard to other fighters he has that he would not stop a fighter earning more money for a fight even if it meant being on another platform.

That doesn't mean he wouldn't want to stage the fight or isn't prepared to make a huge offer, it just means if his offer was beaten he wouldn't stop it.

Thats it a good thing is it not?

You've conflated two unrelated points. The hype and promotion has no relevance to his actual quality.

Hearns promotional strategy is irrelevant to the actually skill a fighter does or does not have. Nor does a fighter giving it the big one talking themselves up.

All those things simply relate to their earning potential.

I do not pay attention to the hype or promotion especially when judging a fighter.

Haney's punches remind me of the amateur ranks , tap, tap, touch him and score points. Everything is from the arms and when he tries to throw hard it looks like he's throwing a ball instead of a punch . I mean he's still only 22 but he needs to set down on his punches or some young lion will definitively set him down.

He is a pro with belt.

Really he is considerably more huge bloke than Loma, why he did not more effect on even older Linares version than years ago had Loma?
Guy is not small for this weight class.

He is what 22 years old? He hasn't even fully developed as a pro yet.
