So your saying if a boxer uses the proper technique he doesn't need to make weight, because weight is irrelevant right? So do away with weight divisions? If you don't have to kill yourself making the weight you will be fresher, faster, stronger and more elert and your punch resistance will be greater, your mood and confidence will be better too, because you know you didn't have to drain yourself like your apponent. That's i guess what 1.5 million buys you. Ryan may have won fair and square if he made the weight, but we will never know.

Yep, Canelo comes in 3 lbs heavy and Benevidez come in all gaunt from making the weight then loses. That don't matter because Canelo was better already, and was using the right technique.

I think there is an assumption that Haney is going to suffer more because of the 3 lb weight difference. Every boxer is different. 140 is just an arbitrary made up number. Would Haney have been fresher at 143? Maybe maybe not.

Its the weight division and agreed upon weight division. 143 lbs isnt the agreement or weight division. If they agreed to 143lbs in advance then fine, but no bait and switch. It is what it is, Garcia won while having two unfair advantages, 3.2lbs and PEDS. he did a great job while cheating. Ryan should have another loss on his record, he should have a DQ on his record for not making weight. If boxers lost by DQ for not making weight we wouldnt have this slacker cheating problem.

Haney did in fact agree to the different weight when he agreed on the penalty and accepted the fight.

That was only after the fact, Ryan didn't want to go through the rigors of making weight at the last minute just to have an unfair advantage over Haney. Haney manned up and let the show continue. Ryan premeditated his advantage.

There was no foul play with the weight though.

There was an agreement made that if either missed weight there would be a $500K penalty.

Everything was within the rules of their agreement.

Wasn't the agreement made after he failed to make the weight? Ryan bet on himself so he had to cheat to win. Ryan deserves credit for a clean victory if he lost the 3.2 lbs the day of the weigh in, then rehydrated and won the next day, thats how its done. Thats just the weight issue, not to mention the PEDS.

Did he really say this? I am more used to boxers making an excuse since at least that way, they excuse the loss in their mind as though it didn't happen. But if he said this, that means he lacks a certain confidence..

You must've struggled with comprehension in whatever public school system you were apart of if you think that is what I was saying.

Or maybe you are trying to play ignorant for the sake of an argument. Either way, I have no way of simplifying what I stated to cater to your off the wall fake "interpretation" of what you read.

Not sure if you ever competed in the ring at any level.... I did for 13 years and currently train young athletes who have an interest in competing on an international level as an amateur and/or pro. I don't need you to tell me how the body functions if I was to drain myself in camp to make weight and how much time my body would take to recoop so I can function at the highest level of my ability. I've been through the situation too many times to count.

What you are doing is trying to over analyze Ryan's motive and mindset as if you know for a fact what he was and wasn't doing in camp and why.... Sorry, your theories don't work with me. I go off actual evidence and facts available. What I saw was a young man who wasn't as focus as he needed to be on every aspect in camp because of his confidence in doing what he though he would be able to do. Maybe because of their history. As I pointed out, Ryan does not game plan for his specific opponents. Every fight you see him in, regardless of the opponent, he's approaching it doing the same thing. Speed and left hook.

So you want me to believe he masterminded missing weight by 3 lbs to focus on being stronger, faster, more alert, etc....LOL... So was the beer he chugged before stepping on the scale suppose to help him with his punch resistance?

No, Ryan was simply unprofessional and focused more on being appealing to his followers than he was about preparing himself in camp. Smoking and drinking while in camp for your first opportunity to win a world title and then displaying it on social media..... He's simply just immature and unprofessional. Then when it came to the date being closer, he lacked the discipline to grind to get to the weight he was suppose to thus he used it to highlight his ignorance yet again. Hell, he lined himself up with a trainer who isn't known for holding his fighters accountable in their personal life....Derrick James, Mr. Trainer of the Year had Spence & Charlo. Do I need to point out the issues those 2 displayed outside of the ring? And all 3 aren't known for making adjustments in the ring. What they simply do is lean on what they do well until he gets the result they want, regardless of the opponent.

But according to you, Ryan's plan all along was to miss weight so he had an upperhand. Miss weight and mess up an opportunity to win a world title.......lol.

DQ's should simply effect the pockets (the fighter's purse). Fighters like Ryan place their finances and popularity over the Wins and Loses at times

I wrestled for 12 years and never missed weight, if i did, i worked tell i made it, if you don't make weight you don't compete. There are no special people who come in at any weight they want then get to compete in the lighter division. I'm saying this because you seem to think i might be unfamiliar with tough competition and making weight. Ryan obviously didn't want to lose the last 3 lbs, run, get in plastic suit, boil down and take chance on weakening himself. If he was forced to make weight or cancel the fight then he would think twice before doing it again.

You’re a sassy little thang, ain’t ya darlin? Your snide, condescending long winded replies make you come across a lot more like Comic Book Guy than any type of athlete or trainer. Now carry on.
