Matias is the last guy Haney should be facing if anyone is trying to protect his career. Matias style negates what Haney wants to do. Matias is a high volume puncher who's very dangerous in later rounds. Suffocating pressure at 88-100 punches per round at 39%. In terms of size, Matias has one of the longest reaches at 140. Matias has no problem making weight and is never drainee which is why he can keep a high work rate in fights. Matias spars 36 rounds in training. Haney is not going 12 rounds without getting exhausted. Its unrealistic to believe Haney distances Matias for 12. Richardson Hitchins admitted "you cant keep Matias on the outside". Even Shakur Stevenson said Matias will put you through hell. The most technical slick boxers giving Matias respect for his style. Better than respect is fear. Hitchins declined to be Matias mandatory. He knows the danger that presents in his "young" career. So if pros admit Matias is difficult, why do you pretend Matias is easy? Whats your gameplan for when Haney loses his legs by round 5 and he can't distance and circle the ring? Whats Haney gameplan when Matias cuts off the ring and punishes him for clinching? Matias is because dangerous of his jab, ability to cut off the ring and his infighting/being dangerous in the clinch. Matias knows how to reach his opponents because he knows how to cut off the ring and Matias is 5"9 with a 72 inch reach. He has a very good ability to shorten his punches which increases his accuracy. Matias knows how to slip his shots in between his opponents loops. Check the Ponce fight to see Matias utilize this. If you hold Matias you're getting beat up. Matias throws 100 punches a round and he only throws more when the rounds get deeper. His style beats slick boxers.
If Bill Haney has to lie about 4 million and Peter Khan and Lopez had to calculated pick Feb 8th instead of a genuine date then you know you're a problem. Check out Coach Mario Boxing on youtube he explains perfectly for 19 minutes on why unconventional pressure fighting beats slick boxing.

It won't be a close fight and you will be very disappointed with how badly Matias will beat Haney.

Plus Haney is a featherfist while Matias has an iron jaw. If you can't earn his respect & keep him at bay, Matias will just walk you down with his hands down

There is a reason 5 opponents in sequence quit on their stool against him

I don't blame guys for fearing to fight him because his style can put serious mileage on you & be life threatening because he is not a 1 (or few shots) KO guy like Inoue & a few others, he just keeps landing hundreds of those thudding arm punches which cause accumulation of damage & can kill you, like a buzzsaw chopping down a tree

Richardson Hitchins Willing To Fight Subriel Matias Matias But Admits He's a "Huge Challenge"

“If I fight a guy like Matias, I would want to be at 100%," Hitchins told *******.com. "I wouldn’t want to fight him in the IBF [with their rehydration demand]. I’m not a small 140, I’m a big 140. I would want to come in there and be at my best. That’s a big challenge, I’m not gonna act like it’s not a huge challenge so I would want to be at my best but I would fight him.”
