Who wins if Golden boy does make the fight happen? Do you think we'll ever see it at all?

I don’t think Haney has beat anybody better than fonseca. If Garcia beats linares that’s better than anything Haney has done

They're both young asf and pretty similar in size so they'll be in the same weightclass for several years so it stands too reason it will happen. Id like to see them fight soon and have the winner face the winner of Loma/Lopez.

Yeah it may be too much for Garcia to take on Loma so soon but it'll be good experience and with his power you never know.

Toss up but give the slight edge to Haney for overall skills

Im completely sold on Devin Haney. Ive been hoping he doesnt rush in against Loma but hell hes a world champ now so i wont allow myself to think that anymore. Ryan Garcia is good and improving but i think we have something special in Haney and any green in him is falling away quickly. Give him a couple of years and this kid is going to dominate 140 and then 147. One of the top Lightweights could give him some trouble now cuz hes still a bit green but putting in another kid with lots left to learn like Garcia wont end well for Garcia.

Hes another savage Floyd in the making at lightweight!

& Garcia is fastly improving & becoming the new Oscar.

let it marinate for another year or make it happen in September. Who is Haney fighting next?

Think hes still recuperating from his injury.

I'd imagine hes looking to fight the winning of Fortuna-Campbell, to gain his belt again

Ryan should take his time, he's improving quickly, and has the physical talent to be a very good fighter. It'd be best for him to take small measured paces over the next couple years before talk of show downs with the elites of the divisions. It's not a fun sight to see a hot prospect get moved along to quickly when he isn't ready for it.

Haney on the other hand, should step up sooner imo, he's had more fights, more experienced and imo is the better of the two. The biggest thing is that his style will lend itself more to ironing out fundamentals and improving technically than Garcia's will.

If they're managed right, both should go pretty far, especially Haney.

Haney's overall boxing edge would give him the edge here, I think. He has pfp potential.
