teo vs cruz is a more entertaining fight
but haney vs matías would ask more questions, I guess

As a previous poster kind of suggested, actually we could maximize both parameters and do

Matías vs Cruz for sheer entertainment (what a war it would be)
And Haney vs Teo to ask questions

But, on topic, if I only can choose the initial options, I prefer Haney vs Matías.

I see Cruz beating Lopez. It will be a war for sure and the one with the better chin wins it and in my eyes that is Cruz.

Matias will lose on point to Haney. If he can trap Haney and land he has a chance but I just dont see the footwork of Matias doing it.

I would rather see Crus and Lopez out if the choice

Subriel Matias vs Isaac Cruz is a potential FOTY candidate for me. I'd rather see that.

Haney will never take the Matias fight.

Unconventional pressure fighter with compact accurate high volume punching and a lethal power jab will always be a problem for a slick boxer with no punching power.

Haney can essentially win the first 4 rounds and still lose the fight.

Matias fighting stance is flat footed but that doesn't mean he has slow feet. Matias has deceptive handspeed with a 72 inch reach. Matias last 5 opponents have better "footwork" than him and they still said no mas. Matias makes up for it with his exceptional cut off ring ability which is the best at 140.

Matias last two opponents landed 18-21%. Those punches hit glove mostly. Haney isn't a high volume puncher himself, mid at best. Added with his lack of power (0 KOs since 2019, 90 rounds without a knockdown and majority of Haney KOs have been in Mexico) Haney has nothing that will back Matias up or make Matias respect him. A jab and footwork isn't enough to beat a pressure fighter. Ask Floyd who's a million tiers above Haney and knows how to fight in the pocket, unlike Devin.

Haney will be abused on the inside. Haney won't have his legs working by round 5 and his body will break down. Matias lands the most body shots at 140 per round. It's inevitable that Matias will hit Haney. 87 punches per round at a 39% clip. Haney can have a stellar defensive preformance and still get caught.

Haney clinches/hugs when you close off the ring. Haney won't be able to use a size advantage on Matias. Matias had 21 fights at 140, always strong and never drained. Haney spent a career fighting 126 fighters while Haney blows up to 165. Matias is masterful at sneaking in heavy shots through small gaps in the clinch. Matias knows how to wrestle and manipulate the clinch also. Similar tactics to Terrance Crawford/Roberto Duran(this is why they defeated slick boxers in their career) when you clinch Matias, he creates a vortex. You clinch Matias, and you're stuck in his vortex. Haney has never ever faced a guy with this attribute. You need to understand in boxing styles makes fights. Matias isn't Prograis. Things look easy for Haney when Prograis has no jab, a 66 inch reach and is 5"6 tall with no ability to cut off the ring because he drags his feet. Matias doesnt drag his feet when hes in motion. Haney won't have the size advantage against Matias and won't have the same comfort of jabbing without being punished.

Haney is mofongo con pollo for Matias.

Matias goes to the body too much for Haney to last 12. Matias is too heavy handed, he can hurt you with 40% of his power. Haney has been rocked by 130lb fighters and is chinny. Anyone who's been in the ring knows unconventional pressure fighters are a slick boxers worst nightmare. Historically that style always negate a technically sound boxer. Matias since 2018 has been facing technically sound slick boxers who were ranked higher in the IBF than Matias (Dadashev #2, Hawkins #4 Ponce #2) that were promoted as the A side and Matias sent them all to the hospital. He's the best finisher in boxing right now and Matias cleans out 140 if Haneys dad stops coming up with lies and Teo avoiding dates when Matias is available.

Matias beats Haney worst than Dadashev and it won't be a close fight. I'll be at Haneys funeral with my son, chunky C if the fight ever happens. Bill Haney declined a meeting to negiotate with Matias and the Haneys are currently on a witness protection program funded by P Diddy and their resources are Gervonta Davis left overs. The more Haney fights Gervontas beaten opponents, the more Haney fans buy this narrative that Haney is world class when he struggles against 35 year olds. A prime Matias too dangerous for Haney. Haney fights Matias when Matias is 38 so see you guys in 2030.

I don't think Cruz beats any of the current champs, beating a walking pinata like Romero proves nothing.

Actually I'd rather see Haney/Lopez and Matias/Cruz and then the winners against each other.
