Damn... I remember when Gamboa was seen as the next big fighter back then because of his incredible talents, until his career went sideways and became wasted. Really sad to see Gamboa become nothing more as a gatekeeper for upcoming fighters now, he’s just not the same fighter anymore...

As far as this match up goes it’s an utter sham, they’re just using Gamboa as a sacrificial lamb at this point to make Haney look good. Haney really needs to step up his competition.

    A two time champ.
(Someone made a case that he technically is still a 1 time champ, but in my eyes he got handed that belt twice)

Yes but the sport has had crops of hungry young talents that fall into the trap of making money off of easy fights for years. I really don’t know what makes this new crop any different from the other ones, but your right, Garcia is fighting Campbell next which is a big statement of what he wants out of his career

if Garcia fights well and comes up short, I’ll give him credit over a guy like Tank who has fallen into a pattern of fighting smaller and washed up guys. That’s a gutsy move by the you g Garcia. Campbell is long and skilled and he’s a southpaw. I’d take him over tank and several top welters. If Garcia beats him, it will definitely prove he’s more than hype and is a top contender at LW.
