Just didn't like the idea of him not having his father/trainer with him for the biggest fight of his life. With that said this might light a fire under him.
I mean, that would be moronic of his father to jeopardise the biggest fight of his son's career, due to his own negligence. It's not Devin's fault, it's not Kamboso's fault, it's not Australia's fault - it's the promoter and his father that ****ed up. Devin is the one that loses out though, for sure.
Just because you have a passport does not mean you're allowed to enter any country you wish. If border control has any reason to believe someone is entering the country unlawfully, aiming to deceit or lie to get in or in this case, have a record you can be turned away as soon as you land. It's the same in New Zealand, UK, Asia...

As is the US. I initially was not allowed in the US for a 30 y.o. misdemeanor. You fill in a form to contest it and it gets reviewed. It's a weird process and Australia is similar.
