Sad truth there. Gamboa has been shot for several years now.

Haney is getting left behind , his team failing him.

Ryan Garcia, to his credit, is taking a very real fight with Luke Cambell.

This version of Gamboa shouldn't be your toughest opponent. His chin, reflex, and speed are gone. He is just another opponent. You’re better of saying you have a lot to learn from fighting a season veteran.

His sparring partners would be a tougher challenge than Gamboa

I think it's quite a nice opponent for a non title fight though. Sulaiman's mention of Loma being the WBC lightweight champion (which he should be of course), makes it that we'd have to view this fight into a different light.

Farce of a fight. Gamboa undersized and finished at the top level, it’s a pay day for him.

It really should be a showcase fight for Haney.

Would be funny if Gamboa causes an upset on him... :clapclap:

Gamboa is a decent fight for Hainey. The problem comes in because hes parading as a world champion due to the influx of ridiculous titles in boxing and thus pekple expect harder fights for champions.

Unfortunately with aroun 10 belts per division the opponents for these said titles is going to be of a lower standard.

Haney would likely get props for this fight if he was still classed as an upcoming contender learning his trade.

As a title holder you lose that.

Gamboa is gonna be a punch bag. Remember dude snapped his achilles mid fight against Tank. He is gonna be so flat footed against Haney it is gonna be comical.

Haney KO5 Gamboa. This is a showcase fight but at least will prove that Devin is better than Tank Davis

I don't like seeing Gamboa as a gatekeeper for emerging talent. Haney should beat him up - and afterwards, Gamboa should call it a career.
