Yeah, I'm certainly not a hater. I remember his old man well, good fringe contender in a strong era. I wish Michael well, but would like to see him in with better comp.

I've only seen him finished twice outright from strikes in MMA and both by great finishers. Miocic a massive HW in a fight that he took on short notice and Krylov with a high kick that would have KO'd a mule. Glover Teixeira beat the hell out of him on the ground and standing in what was deemed the 2012 beatdown of the year on Sherdog. Maldonado didn't quit or pull out the Doctor/Corner pulled him out.

Admiral James Ali Bashir was absolutely glowing with praise for Hunter in this recent interview.

Starts about an hour and six mins in

He predicted Hunter was going to bash up Bakole and those other HW behemoths he beat

He said he has Hunter ranked #5 in the world at HW

On someone saying AJ stops Hunter within six rounds

''If Michael Hunter is in shape ain't nobody going to stop him inside six rounds. Nobody in boxing today is going to stop him inside six rounds. I'm telling you. I've seen the sparring sessions between Wlad and Hunter. I've seen Sirenko with Hunter.

''He can punch, he can box, he's slick, he's got good eyes and good reflexes. He's got everything he needs to go to the Superbowl''

People think AJ would walk straight through Hunter

''No, ain't nobody going to walk through Michael Hunter. Let me say that again. Ain't nobody going to walk straight through Michael Hunter. There ain't nobody in boxing who is going to walk straight through Michael Hunter. You're going to have to work to do it because he's that good''

''Michael Hunter would've had a field day with the AJ that fought Joseph Parker. The man can box''

Says AJ was lucky he wasn't in with Hunter when he fought Joseph Parker

''If you get in a ring with Hunter and you're not prepared for all that slick stuff he does, boy, he's going to beat your behind good''

''Those guys are going to have a big problem with him. I know this kid, I've worked with him on two occasions and I'm telling you he's a gifted guy. I'm telling you.. he's a gifted guy'

''He can handle a lot of the guys in the top 10''

''But I ain't going to say nothing else.. I'm just going to let all the doubters and all the detractors just watch and see. Just watch and see and you're going to see something. You're going to see something really special''

The guy is a 39 year old journeyman who was brought in to lose on relatively short notice. You're holding the guy to a very high standard. Fact is in his last prior 2 fights before this he went the distance with a contender and a top prospect. This was an impressive display by Hunter.

No one is questioning his level as a fighter you idiot, he's not great, everyone expected Hunter to beat him, but he's no bum, and he's tough as nails. The manner in which Hunter dispose of him was impressive, but here's your Debby Downer ass coming along shitting on Hunter's accomplishment.

I've never seen this Rivas fight, but it would be shocking to me if any top 10 HW could not get this guy out in 3 rounds. He's as slow as a sloth, I'm going to have to watch that Rivas/Maldonado fight.
