Linares would have finished him if that bell didn't ring when he got wobbled.

I had 98 - 1 for Linares tko/ko, Donaire tko/ko and Russell Jr points.. Utterly disappointed that Linares didn't have a few seconds to finish him

A piece of me is gutted I went to bed and missed Martin J Ward getting stopped.

But the rest of me is glad I didn't stay up to watch one of the most overrated boxers around today.. Haney.

I've said for a long time he is the worst of that bunch at lightweight.

Teo pings him, Loma stops him, Davis batters him, Garcia knocks him out and Commey puts him in another dimension.

I'd probably pick a few others to beat him too.

Kingry might look like a pretty boy but the kid has balls.

He got dropped hard by Campbell, got straight up an beat the brakes off him.

Nothing Haney does will stop Ry from plodding forward and blasting him out.

Ry has slow feet but electric hand speed, he is still fast enough to catch and hurt Haney over 12 rounds.

    I think it's a 6-8 round stoppage , probably faster.
Can't see it going past 10. Haney is way too Chinny and Ry hits hard!!!

Don`t know what to make of Haney. He looked fantastic for the first 9 rounds but its worrying the way he got hurt by Linares late on

Being hurt by that combo is no big deal. However, the way he struggled to recover is worrying. Kept his composure but physically he seemed unable to come back. Also, his only idea was to just hold. Sure, Floyd himself got away with murder when it came to holding, but he at least worked the opponents body. He also tried to set up punches for when they broke without the refs intervention.
 And that 12th round was on another level of pathetic. Can´t really think of anything sadder at the moment.

With some proper adjustments, Linares can win a rematch.

Ryan would not beat Haney. There is a reason he has kept well away from him until now.

Teo gives him the most problems.

this people seem to miss is he is 22 years old. He’s still got a lot of maturing to do

Before he had fight vs Campbell he was not ranked so highly than after this fight.
For Haney not likely looked lucrative to fight vs Ry when he was not ranked enough highly.

Ry ofc does have flaws and a lot of flaws, still he does have speed and power plus now appeared that lad does have normal chin.
Guy get up so quickly and continued to fight surprisingly smoothly, without and decrease in speed and activity.

age has nothing to do with his durability or his lack of pop. it may have just been an unusually damaging shot to the wrong spot, like aj or wilder got before getting their clock cleaned, or he cant recover fast enough to avoid getting stopped when he gets to the top 3-4 guys. and maybe he just doesnt train to put leverage in his shots, real leverage, cause he looks weak with his shots. rewatch how linares would look when he would catch those hard thrown punches with his forearms...his arms barely move. no follow through at all. just surface punching. he needs a coach to teach him how to punch through, how to dig.
it may also be that he is so defensively focused, that hes already on defense before the punch even lands. theres no spite in that.

Had 415/1 in Matias and Fuzile to win, Donaire by TKO/Ko, and Linares by decision...

Did not expect to come THAT close...

Nothing strange. He never said that Haney has no power. He said he didn't feel his punches at all. Which means Haney didn't have the power to hurt him last night. Which is fact lol.
