Just 48 hours away yet no poll thread, minimal fanfare! WBC lightweight title on the line, third defense of Haney. Díaz is the organization's interim champion, making this an in-house unification.

The final presser was live-streamed an hour ago ...without a single post about it here.

It wouldn't shock me in the least if Haney wins by extremely unpopular gift decision. Yes, arguably Rakhimov should have beaten JoJo, but Shavkat is also a big puncher, ultra aggressive and a fellow southpaw, so it allowed him to land from angles on a regular basis, simply not available to Haney. Clearly, even though it's not quite his Achilles Heel, based on his performances against the Russian, GRJ, Cuadro and Fortuna.... close. The only one he dominated was Famer, because of Farmer's complete and utter lack of power. So yeah... JoJo struggles with fellow southpaws more than he does orthodox fighters. So Haney, who couldn't bruise a banana even if he was using it as a speedbag, is going to have a hard time keeping JoJo off of him. JoJo cuts the distance pretty well and fights on the inside far better, he lands his straight left with regularity and his looping left hook to the body is probably one of his best punches. Most likely, it takes JoJo about 3 to 4 rounds to find the proper range, figures him out around the 5th and closes very strong, and ends up losing by wildly lopsided scorecards. Hopefully hw can replicate when Linares did to him late, and unlike Jorge (because he's more persistent), actually close the show.
