If he had held out a bit longer we could have seen him fight Gary Russell, Lomachenko, Johnny Gonzalez, Mares and many many more.

It’s a shame the Juan Manuel Lopez unification fight didn’t happen before he got exposed by Salido, still doubtful that would have ever happened like most potential unifications matches, although the last few years they’re becoming more regular which is nice to see.

I’m also assuming Gambia probably started to struggle with making weight and must have had some promotion/management issues having that year gap between his last fight before Crawford.

 

That is a shame to hear. He deserves better than to finish his career as an "opponent" type.
