Haney is still really young and was coming off a long layoff. He’s got good size and is pretty athletic. Didn’t look special in the fight but he won convincingly and controlled the fight. I hope he has another level because he seems like a pretty good kid.

Gamboa needs to hang it up because there is no gas in the tank. Young Gamboa would have beaten Haney and Tank on the same night. This version is a shell of his former self. It’s sad to watch this version. Good enough to cash in on his name but not for much longer.

Shotboa is officially a medium profile stepping stone for guys now. Haney promised a violent KO, but stunk out the joint. Ryan Garcia's gonna look much better, win or lose, against Luke Campbell.

Wasn't a good performance by Haney. Gamboa had absolutely nothing to offer; seems like he was there for the paycheck only and had
no other motivation to try and win. It's hard to look good when the other guy isn't trying but neither did Haney step it up and at least try to take Gamboa out.....he's been KO'd before so it's not like it was impossible.

Gamboa was tailor made for him to look good but Haney couldn’t do it. It was a pretty boring fight. Gamboa was there to just survive and Haney didn’t press.

Haney exposed for winning convincingly against old Gamboa yet Usyk not exposed for winning similarly against old Chisora

    Haney - early 20s
    Usyk - mid 30s

Anyone care to attempt to justify this bull****?

Haney said he'd put a violent beatdown on Gamboa, saying he'll score at least four knockdowns before the stoppage. Gamboa has been down 23 times in his career, 11 in his last 10 fights, so everyone tended to see the possibility. What followed was terribly underwhelming. Haney seemed afraid to engage as much as Gamboa was and showed no killer instinct despite his claims.
I expected Usyk to outbox a game Chisora (who has an iron chin) and he did exactly that, hurt him badly twice late in rounds 7 and 8, bell saved Chisora further punishment and a possible stoppage both times. All in all okay performance for Usyk, even if it wasn't his best. No double standards here, just expectations meeting reality.

Haney was much bigger than Gamboa, Chisora was much bigger than Usyk. Usyk has beaten a slew of elite opponents while unifying a division. Haney has beaten none while opening up an email.

I don't know why you listed their ages like it doesn't show Haney in a worse light lmao

One's going up a weight class they utterly dominated to go against literal giants and, after some initial difficulty against the best gatekeeper in the division, was able to win convincingly. The other is pretending he's a champion because he was emailed a belt, going around acting like he's the best in his division despite his only win of consequence being a shot, legless fighter, who the last time anyone considered them 'good' was ten years and two weight-classes ago. Said opponent is also notorious for being chinny and wasn't ever really hurt throughout the fight despite eating some clean punches.

    That help?

Haney is just getting started his age should be considered here he is just now starting to face experienced opposition. Say that Usyks cruiser opposition is elite all you want I don't buy it. They both just had lack luster outings against old shot opponents. One is getting trashed and the other is getting a free pass

Haney is young and the future is his.
He's 21 and has plenty of time.
Gamboa won rounds off Davis too.
    I enjoy watching Haney box.
And remember you heard it hear first- when he outboxes the rest I'm going to remind you'll what I said.
