Devis Boschiero vs. Romain Jacob RBR

He was probably already committed to perform in Koepenick today, for the massive but ill-fated Petkovic vs. Saglam event. :!:

Round 1

Boschiero is moving in and jabbing at the challenger, firing the left from just below his chin on an incline toward Jacob's eyes. Jacob is dancing away, stretching out his own long jab with his stance arcing into trapezoidal. Boschiero is forcing the action, walking Jacob down and leading with jabs, putting up some right crosses at the head. Jacob is doing an excellent job so far of maintaining distance and making Boschiero lunge into the air, just shy with most of his straight punches. Jacob is pawing with his left, keeping a bead on range instead of trying in earnest to score. Right hand on the neck by the champion as Jacob circles into the ropes. A bit of reddening on the forehead of Jacob shows that Boschiero is at least grazing with his jabs pressing in more than it looks by the naked eye. Jacob takes a right hand between the eyes while clasping his fists to his lower face.

10-9 Boschiero, sliiiiiiiight edge in ring generalship though neither landed much clean and Jacob showed defensive capability.

 

Round 2

Boschiero is jabbing his way in and slapping across the side of Jacob's face with the left hook once in close. Up-jab by Boschiero snaps Jacob's head back. Jacob is standing in with him double-jabbing from a tight guard and flailing with his right hand, missing as Boschiero dips low to one side. Boschiero is bobbing and weaving in throwing high 1-2s from down by his chin, resetting his fists after each volley. Nice sneaky lead hook by Boschiero after a jab feint got Jacob to squeeze his guard tighter and open up the right cheek for him. Boschiero is throwing uppercuts to the body and backing Jacob up. Jacob answers with his own uppercut on the belt line and tosses a couple of strong jabs at Boschiero's head, backing him up. They exchange hooks on the body and straights up top in the pocket, with Boschiero getting the best of it. Big wide rips downstairs from Boschiero, sliding his feet outside after landing before Jacob can mount a counteroffensive. 1-2 up top by Boschiero, backing Jacob up. Stiff counter head jabs and uppercuts to the body by Jacob.

Was it just me or did the 2nd round get awesome? I am enjoying this immensely.
