Boschiero is ducking into the path of Jacob's plunging right hand, then surfacing along the route of his left jab. Boschiero has no recourse but to move backward. Once he gets in reverse Jacob rushes in and pours on the pressure, jabbing the face and hooking the body all without falling in and smothering himself. Brilliant work by the challenger here, absolutely stifling Boschiero and forcing a brutal pace on him. Boschiero is bravely standing his ground as much as he can, throwing hard combos with the left hook and high right hand but not able to find any sharpness and constantly forced to flee. Jacob gets Boschiero on the ropes with a 1-2 and steps back deftly as Boschiero launches a counter right hand jumping in on him. Jacob is popping the 1-2 in on Boschiero's scalp and pressing in, eating a counter left hook on the jaw but continuing to chip away on Boschiero. Jacob has Boschiero hurt near the bell!! Boschiero on the ropes getting tagged by 1-2s, shelling up!!

Boschiero fought his guts out in the sixth but he got through next to nothing cleanly in most of those exchanges.

 

Round 7

Long delay for Jacob leaving his corner. :? Apparently his crew is having a hard time getting the spot under his stool wiped down with their rags, too much excess moisture? Not really sure what is going on. Anyway, here we go. Thirty seconds late. Boschiero is trading jabs with Jacob, leaning in behind his forearms, putting his full body weight forward. Lead rights to the body by Boschiero, caught on the pinned-together elbows. Boschiero tries catching Jacob with a quick left hook up top but the young man's defenses are brought to bear. Jacob is jabbing him in the face in doubles and triples. Jacob fires the overhand right on the backfoot but can't reach Jacob with it. 1-2 shaving the hairline of Boschiero by Jacob, and then a finishing left hook on the waistband. Boschiero is muscling in on Jacob looking for a tie up. Flurries off the jab by Jacob, denying the clinch with in and out footwork and propelling himself glove to glove off Boschiero. Jacob is getting in, scoring lightly and escaping before Boschiero can load up a big hook or chopping right on him.

Round 8

Boschiero is whipping in long body uppercuts with both hands. Jacob is scooting back to let him miss or graze and then homing in with his jab and long 1-2. Boschiero is clapped with a right on the head while ducking in retreat. Hooks on the body attempted by Boschiero as Jacob moves in on him. Jacob sweeps them aside with backhanded motions and flurries as Boschiero's head. Clinch. Break. Stiff guard-splitting 1-2s by Jacob, forcing Boschiero to engage in center ring. Jacob is double-jabbing at Boschiero's gloves to smack them out of the way and open up a lane.

They have a soccer chant (not "Ole", but the "Whoa-whoa-oh-oh-whoa-oh" one...) and even vuvulezas. :soccerbl:

Round 9

Boschiero is getting pumped with jabs. Boschiero may have taken a few on the eyeball as he turns his face and looks for assistance from the ref, maybe hoping for a thumbing call. No luck. Jacob moves in and keeps prodding him with hard jabs while he is looking in the other direction. PROTECT YOURSELF AT ALL TIMES, Devis! Jacob is making Boschiero fight, chasing him all over the ring and sticking jabs and 1-2s in his face. Boschiero is ducking and hopping away, throwing left hooks at the body and wild rights up top and missing. Two-armed shove by Boschiero as Jacob presses in. 1-2 by Jacob leaping atop Boschiero on the ropes. Powerful left hook loaded up by Boschiero coming forward off the ropes but just narrowly missing.
