Technically speaking an itis is an inflamatatory process. Ie. "Doctor the the Vag that is Alexander's eye seems to be inflamed."

An osis is a diseased or abnormal condition. ie "Doctor that man seems to have a vag instead of an eye?!?!?!" Or an Osis can be a pathologic condition involving increased formation of something. Ie "Holy crap, doctor that man's growing a vag in his eye!"

So really the the proper diagnosis depends on what people saw happening....personally what I saw was a man grow a vag instead of an eye that was inflammed.....so ocular vaginitosis anyone???
