You often come out with these dull, cynical threads moaning about this guy being overrated, or that guy being overrated. I haven't read anyone saying Devon Alexander should be in the p4p rankings, and I'm on this board a lot. I've read many people saying his stoppage of Urango was mightily impressive - and it was. Are you incapable of ever praising a quality performance, or is it your default reaction to try and appear like a wise old sage by always being the tired sceptic? PS: Alexander beats Maidana and Ortiz.
I don't think he's overrated. He's a good boxer, but I agree that Bradley, Khan, and Maidana would be too much for him. Although Khan could get knocked out by Alexander if he catches him right.
As it stands, Alexander's comp has been pretty solid for the past few fights. he's been brought along pretty nicely, and showed good skills and toughness in taking out Urango at a point when it seemed like Urango was beginning to work his way back into the fight. I think I'd be inclined to favor him over Khan, and a fight with Maidana is just about a fifty fifty proposition at this point, imo. But overrated? I wouldn't say. he's a good boxer/puncher with a lot of upside, from what I can tell, and I think most people would agree with that assessment
Urango stoppage was 100% premature. It was obvious that everything was set up to help promote Alexander's career. It was the most bull**** stoppage I have ever seen in a title unification bout. He was the star of that show, not Urango. And that was no KO cuz nobody KO's Juan Urango. That was a helping hand from a compliant referee.
I disagree. I just pointed out that he hasn't shown everything, and regardless, his opposition is limited in comparison to Bradley's. That's not even a question, especially considering Alexander's best win, was Witter who Bradley beat up and knocked down when Witter was still somebody in the division. Slightly better......be real.
I hate to say I told you so, but...I told you so. In fact, I don't hate it because I was in the minority who are right about Alexander's lack of everything. He isn't a good agressive boxer, he isn't accurate, he isn't hard to hit, he doesn't have good power. He always was overrated.
I just know I'm right. I'm not oneof those people who looked at the stoppages of Urango and Witter and was excited. The Urango punch will prove to be an exception, as I've said, and be won't reproduce that. Why? Because he isn't a puncher and he proved that against Witter. He stopped him, yeah, but he was a truly shot version and that winwasnot close to as impressive as others claim. I thought he showed a lack of technical abilityin both fights but that was overlooked because of the finishes. Whilst the finishes may have been impressive, fighters who get **** on for having no ability, like an aging Hatton, landed more and took less than Alexander did. The signs were there. I toldyou he was overrated because of this and I was right. Maybe if I tried to look like a wise, sage you can admit I am? :lol
Good prediction. That's what a good stoppage will do for a fighter. I sense the same unjust hype with Pirog.
Well done Jack. You exposed Michigan Warrior as a disgraceful troll nuthugger who should be perma-banned for his despicable, biased views. :happy:happy:dead:dead
Are you going to retract this disgraceful rant and apologise to Jack. nonoatsch He has just served you and others a massive platter of pwnage. :rofl:rofl
I have a question: IS Alexander really that overrated, OR, is Kotelnik just that massively underrated because he lost to Khan in a lopsided match? Because you know, I heard a lot of people say Kotelnik was gonna beat Khan before the clinic occurred several matches ago.
