Devon Alexander plans on banging with Bailey!

Agreed, my only concern is that he may try to slug it out with Bailey if the going gets tough for DA...I do too think he needs to make things rough for Bailey but do it effectively instead of going all balls and try to go toe to toe with a puncher like Bailey. IMO, Devon can box and still make things ugly for Bailey, but he needs to sit down on more of his shots and get out of there to frustrate and keep him turning.

He needs to replicate what Urango did to Bailey:good (as far as making things very ugly for Bailey)

 

Alexander has been in with very big puncher's so he should be ok here.

 

He'd better win all of the exchanges.

Any of the ones he loses could be the last one.

He should box.

 

Toe to toe would be career suicide, imagine being a trainer and all you do is tell your prodigy stay away from his right hand and what do they do....jump straight into a right hand smh!

Devon doesnt have the ring IQ of a Cotto, has hardly no defense, and has a low workrate. But what he says could work for him this is why.

Bailey has a right hand that gives Wlad a run for his money. Thing is, he loads up on it bigtime. Cotto did a masterful performance beating Bailey. Devon would have to stay within a range or angle Bailey's right is ineffective. Neutralize it. Also make Bailey miss and use lateral movement. Bailey is taller than Urango uppercuts wont be as effective. Bailey has to be pushed back to where he has to be on thex defense. Truth is Bailey is even more low output than Devon due to his style and age. Devon can stop Bailey, but not without precautions. He'll do it by beating him to the punch. But unlike Jones Devon has good power at 147. I think so does Jones, he was on his way to victory, but lightning struck. Sometimes even with a great gameplan it just wasnt meant to be.

Alexander always bangs. He isn't all that flighty.

People forgot how he fought solid bangers like Urango because he was scared of Bradley's mega-dome and dealing with the relentless power attack of Matthysse. Alexander likes to bang if at all possible.

He is going to have to force Bradley to punch himself out. Bailey will run out of gas like he did against Urango. If he tries to potshot Bailey using tons of movement and fast combinations, Bradley is going to slowly track him down. All Bailey needs is one.

 

I'd be shocked if this ends any other way besides a KO for Alexander. Doubt he's gonna sit there and trade though, he'll pick Bailey apart and stop him.

 

Alexander was hurting Maidana in their fight. Most would assume Maidana has a sturdier beard than Bailey. People also forget, Alexander takes a good shot.
