Yes, I agree. A Clottey fight would be perfect at this stage in his career. Answer some questions about him. Give him very valuable experience. And though his last loss was one-sided, the one before that was debatable and he's been a world champion recently enough. But I don't think he's going to want to do 147 again. He's so big and his last pay check had to make him think twice about how much it's personally worth to him to drain down again now that he's loaded. I think he'll be back at 154. Zaveck/Berto might work if Zaveck's team were game for a unification.
Im not sure a Zaveck/Berto works for me. I would make Berto heavy favourite going in against someone that doesnt have the power to trouble him. But i suppose it is a logical fight for him to take as it would add a title (albeit the IBF belt) to his collection should he win it. I think Berto is a little bit a a loss. Pac, PBF and SSM are all out of the question as they are the 3 best fighters around, and Cotto (and likely Clottey as well) are moving up which removes his opposition.
If it means anything, I don't think Cotto will stay at 154 or even beat Foreman. I don't think he was cut out for it up there or against Foreman's style. I'm rooting for him though. He might come back down for a last go around, and maybe there'll be a Berto fight.
wow, so because he has a strap doesnt automatically mean he's peaked and is ready for all the big dogs in the welterweight divsion. you're still asking for too much, yes shane mosley wouldve more than likely beat him but he still had the gonads to step in the ring and try. and now your holding his family deaths against him and used that as an excuse to call him a "fraud" or a "protected fighter". thats pretty ****ed up man, im one of the biggest klitschko haters around, but if either of them had a fight lined up with david haye and had to pull out because they're family members died in a freak accident, i would hold absolutely nothing against them. you on the other hand? bud, you've got serious soul searching to do:-(
hmmm, looks like we've got another idiot who doesnt know what he's talkin about. next thing you know people are gonna start calling fighters making their pro debuts frauds:-(
You're clearly a troll because nobody is that stupid. I, again, did not say anything like that. You, again, are being completely irrational and putting words in my mouth and arguing against your own false interpretations of what I said. I am not going to argue with a troll or moron any further. Come at me with some sensible **** and I might acknowledge it though. :good
Berto sucks you simp. He gets by on his athletic ability, and speed alone. He has no technical skill, or defense to speak of. He's constantly off balance when he leapes in, he holds like a mother****er cause he has no infighting skill, and he pulls back with his head straight in the air. Alexander on the other hand is actually a quality BOXER, and I could easily see him walking the low IQ having Berto into uppercuts all night.
Berto a fraud? Why? Because he had a rough go with Luis Collazo? Collazo gives EVERYONE a hard time. Mosley handled him pretty well but, other than that, Collazo is a rough go for everybody he has lost to.
Ummm..... just maybe because Jones had EXCEPTIONAL, once in a lifetime talent, and Berto doesnt have anywhere close. Jones was also alot more coordinated then Berto, had legit power in both hands, had a lightyears higher IQ, and was 100x more elusive. You should be ashamed for even comparing the two. Berto isnt worthy enough to wipe Roy's ass.
I'm not saying Berto is as good as Jones Jr. was. But, there attributes are similar and you can't knock Berto for relying on athleticism more than skill when an ATG like Jones Jr. made an ATG career out of doing the samething.
