Well first off... Jones had more skill then Berto, lets get that out the way now.

2nd of all... Roy had exceptional reflexes which allowed him to be impossible to hit in his prime.

Berto has shitty relexes, is easy to hit, and has a suspect chin. He'll be exposed by the first top fighter he faces.

why in gods name do you primates keep saying this?? going on in boxing on speed and agility alone will get you nowhere. if you think its that easy then how come zab judah got sparked out every time he stepped up? how come terry norris got destroyed every time he faced a banger? what about meldrick taylor? its been shown time and time again trying to get by on speed alone will get you nowhere. berto is a great combination puncher and when he wants to be, he can be a great counter puncher as well. when he commits to his jab and uses footwork to keep fights in the center of the ring he looks great, he has boxing ability. he can stick and move, maintain proper ring generalship, and has a good IQ. he pretty much figured out quintana after being outboxed in the early rounds before knocking him out. that tells you right there he can overcome adversity.

you tell that to urango, the guy got his head boxed off all night long. someone with no technical skill or defense whatsoever as you claim shouldve been cat nip for guys like berto and quintana.

wow! is this some kind of sick joke or are you under the influence?? every time berto is in close range he unloads hellacious uppercuts and short crisp shots to his opponents midsection. man i swear im having doubts you've ever watched berto fight accpet for the collazo one.

I think alexander would beat him too, but it would be nowhere near as easy as you would make it out to be. berto has shown he can overcome adversity. in the collazo fight he brutalized him in the late rounds which is what secured the UD. in the quintana fight, he put more pressure on him to neutralize his jab and be able to unload his own shots. all while having a torn left bicep nonetheless:shock:, actually watch berto's fights instead of being a typical sheep and follow what the crowd says

My pet dog could outbox Urango.

I agree with EVERYTHING you just said. My point was that you cannot blame Berto for relying on athleticism more than skill. Many other boxers, like Roy, even though he did it at a much higher level, have done the same in the past. The jury is still out on Berto. He is young and undefeated. He will get better.

This would be an intersting matchup, I'd pick berto by a slight margin in this one.

:patsch This is what happens when fighters fight past their best days and hang around the fight game too long, You end up with revisionist BS. RJJ had exceptional SKILL to go along with being a great athlete, anyone who thinks differently is full of ****.

Berto is a mediocre boxer who happens to be a great athlete, which combines overall to make him a good but not a great fighter. He has potential but right now any skillful or durable puncher (SSM,Cotto, Pac) will destroy him.

You're right BUT he does have potential, unfortunately I don't think we will see improvement until he either loses or has another close call like the Cosme Rivera fight.

Berto's flaws would be exposed by a guy like Alexander. Devon would circle Berto hitting with his jab and other power shots piling up a points lead. Not to mention Devon's chin is better than Berto's and Devon hits hard enough that Berto just won't rush in and try and overpower him. Alexander by UD would be my pick
