Finally saw the knockdown replays and that 1st knockdown was prety sweet. Urango gets caught like that in mid punch very often because of his wide swings. It cost him big right there.

You think so. He may have got stopped later that round but seeing it was a title fight and he had the title, I think the ref should have allowed him to go on.

Sure Urango might have been able to contune boxing, but for how long. The knockdowns took place within :20 of each other. If the round were to contune it was likely he would have gone down a third time.

Yes, probably, but why not let him continue to find out for sure? He definitely wasn't done and finished after that 2nd knockdown.. atleast in my eyes he didn't appear that way. So let the champ go out on his shield.

If you notice the 2nd knockdown was from a temple punch to the head, also the uppercut just grazed urango chin a he fell down again.

The referee saw that Urango's legs were gone and stopped it.

Should the ref have stopped the fight? In my opinion the ref looked at Urango and felt he had nothing left. The first uppercut took him off his feet. Alexander would have won the fight either way.

    Hatton v Pac was "gone"

Jumping up in the air and clapping ones hands after the count of seven is not a finished fighter not even close:patsch

The refree's job is to protect the health of the boxers. Going down twice that fast is a sign that something might be wrong. As for letting the champ go out on his shield 1. This is a good way to cause more perment injuries if not deaths in the ring. 2. Urango was not the champ.

both had titles, this was a big fight,

Urango passed the test after a count he was not all over the place nto even close he gave every indication that he could continue

What does the referee require, did Urango need to do a backflip to prove he beat the count here >?

I don't argue that he was hurt... that second knockdown was from a nothing shot.. but can you honestly say he was out yet? I can't, and I doubt the ref is a fortune teller and could see for certain that Urango was for sure going to get clocked out brutally. So unless it's an absolute certainty, let the guy continue. Juan is a big boy, he knows the risks involved.

The first knockdown was a great shot, literally took Urango off his feet.

I think thatst the key. Also right before Urango got knocked down the second timne it looked like Alexander was just short with a hay maker that would have taken his head off. Maybe the ref just didn't want to see somethign huge land. Urango was gone that round for sure. Still the stopage was crap thought.
