Yea I mis-spoke. It was still the right call on the ref's part to stop it.

No need for Juan to take more of that. He wasn't going to turn it around. Learn from it and come back 100% to fight again.

Devon stood in there with a monster and stopped him. Wow.

Stoppage was premature, but not crap.

Urango may have been up and signaled that he was ready to fight, but we don't know how he would have reacted had the official asked him to take a step toward him. He didn't look like he had his legs under him in the moment prior to the 2nd kd that's for sure. So the official should have asked Urango to take a step toward him and then made the decision to stop the fight. That's what makes it premature.

But honestly, with two minutes remaining in the round with a fighter who still looked rubery legged and with everyone more or less conceding that Alexander was going to finish matters off anyway, I don't think that this could be labelled a truly crap stoppage. I've seen far, far worse.

Alexander looks to be the goods though. Let's see what he does in the future against even better opposition.

I think that right hand to the temple was what did him in..The uppercut was just icing on the cake

The stoppage may have been premature but he was through imo. Devon had too much in his arsenal for limited fighter like Urango. He would have stopped him eventually for what its worth

    Bring on Bradley

Honestly i didn't expect Alexander to have that kind of power. As far as i know Randall Bailey is the only other guy to knock Urango of off his feet, and Bailey is a legit ko artist. Also Berto and Hatton both didn't kd Urango, so much props ought to go out to Devon. Hope he gets the kind of fight he deserves soon, hopefully Bradley but Khan-Malignaggi winner or maybe Ortiz if he beats Campbell sounds great to me too.
Maidana-Cayo winner vs Alexander would be very nice for pure boxing fans, but wouldn't do much to raise Alexander's profile and enhance his career, he deserves something bigger.
