Well it was a good night for team slickness. Alexander dominated and Broner knocked a man out after beating on him for 4 rounds. No wonder Ricky Burns turned tail and ran.

Also, why the **** did they have to show Cancer Boy post-Broner/Perez? Really, you had to show Cancer Boy, HBO?

Have to say I was very disappointed with Maidana I was rooting for him all the way even though Alexander was strongly predicted to win. This fight certainly brings Maidana's stock down after Morales and now being systematically beaten by Devon. It also partly devalues Khan's victory over him (not completely though because Amir "glass-jaw-gets-knocked-out-by-the-wind-resistance-of-a-jab" Khan took some serious bombs from Maidana and never went down once.
I've not seen much of Alexander if I'm completely honest, but from what I saw last night he throws some very crisp punches, has good speed, decent chin, decent power and is quite slick. Absolutely hated the amount of times he clinched though.
    I definitely wana see Khan-Alexander.

It is a better welterweight win, yes. Abregu is clearly a solid B+ welterweight, regardless of what his best win is.

    "I am not a welterweight"

    - Maidana

    So...you were saying?

h2h at 147, I'd actually give Luis Carlos Abregu a very good chance of stopping Maidana.

Maidana would be a better win if Alexander had done it at 140.

Everything Lance said. I agree with you on all Alexander has brought to 147, but he proved that with another 140 fighter moving up and actually confessed he was in the wrong division. When I see him handling a decent real 147 fighter, then I will make my decision if he is a true threat. For all we know he could get stopped in his next fight and have all the posters claim he should not have been at 147, etc. His next fight should tell us more. Again, he did look great and all. It was that he fought Maidana who did not belong at 147. It was a good name under his belt now.

Just another example of how some boxing fans don't have a clue as to what they are talking about.

Abregu is a C level fighter.

Some people let their hate of a fighter cloud their judgment. Anybody with boxing eyes could see that Maidana is a plodding brawler with no footwork. The lack of footwork is what allowed Alexander to have his way. Matthysse on the other hand, regardless of the weight was always in much better positions to engage Alexander do to his somewhat decent footwork.
