Never really been a fan of this guy especially when he got gifts against Kotelnik and Lucas.

Looking at his record and especially his last 7 fights he has the most under rated run in boxing at the moment.

Yes he is super under rated by the casuals and no he didn't get a gift over Lucas he outboxed him.

I thought the fight was closer than it should of been as Lucas stepped of the gas after the knock down but did enough to win.

10-9 on the KD or did you have a 10-10 round? If the latter, which one?

I honestly can't stand Alexander, i find his constant grunting and prodding style almost unwatchable but as an honest boxing fan i think he did just enough against Kotelnik and Lucas to get close wins. I totally understand how fans could think they were robberies though as a boxer can land the better punches throughout a fight and win his rd's bigger but still lose due to him losing the quiet rd's when they weren't as active.

Lucas threw the fight away against Alexander, he started slowly and lost the first 3 rds and then scored knockdown in 4, dominated 5 but lost 6th then came back and dominated 7 and 8. As you said he let his foot off the gas the last two rds and i thought Alexander won the 9th and 10th based on more activity which mean't it was 95-94 to Alexander.

    Yes so unrated.

Look at who he fights. Also he scraped by Matthyse. But even if you gave it to Matthyse, it was very close, and everyone raves about Matthyse being a killer.

He also dominated Maidana. It was sickeningly one sided.

He's never gonna be world class, but he doesn't **** about.

Kell Brook for instance. No one else once to give Brook a shot.

How in the world do you score 10 for Alexander? Especially on the basis of "activity?" Matthysse clearly outthrew and outlanded him in the round, and those landed punches were loads more powerful than Alexander's.

He clearly lost to Mathysse, the Kotelnik fight was very close a draw was fair, but yes he should get credit for a helluva schedule and resume. He definitely needs some tweaks and fight smarter in the ring. Needs to fight more relaxed and fluid. Seems every punch he throws he wants to land with power as if he's not confident in his stamina so he wants to end it early. He's very strong, but still kinda one dimensional. Against come forward fighters he's fun to watch, other than Lucas of course. His fights against Maidana and Urango were pretty good, just seems to gas or lose focuse when he does face someone that can neutralize or take his power.

It's been a while since i watched the fight so i might have got my rounds mixed but i did remember at the time of watching it that Alexander won 5 rds which would have given Lucas the win by 1 point although if you gave one of Lucas' rds to Alexander then he would have won by 1 point. Was a close fight and one Lucas would have easily won had he started earlier which is something he realised himself especially after losing to Judah too.

If you watch his fights from Humberto Soto onwards he clearly starts qucker and that's made a massive difference.

But the thing is aside from the ninth, Alexander did not clearly win a single round in the fight, while Matthysse clearly won 4. You have to literally give Alexander the benefit of the doubt in every remaining round to arrive at a 95-94 score for him, never mind the absurd 96-93 card from one of Don King's handpicked judges.

The criticism that Matthysse doesn't start quickly enough is far more applicable to the Judah fight, but here he was doing quality body work early on and had Alexander shaken at the end of the 3rd. And let's be clear, it's not like Devon started particularly fast that night either.

His fight against Maidana was dreadful because he held all night. I expect he will do the same against any other pressure fighter he faces going forward.
