Lets just look at it closer.

He beat Witter- no big deal by that point

Juan Urango- wasnt exactly killing him at the time of the stoppage

Kotelnik- Most people think he lost and by a long way

Bradley- lost to a better all round fighter, no shame there

Mathysse- Most people think he lost

Maidana- Won, credit to him, but still not a big scalp really

Bailey- Won but again not exactly an elite welter

His record has some decent names but look at the fashion of his wins and look deeper into his opponents and it is not as impressive as he or his trainer seems to think.

Dont get me wrong i think he is a good fighter with a solid record. Its just very easy to see past it all. Brook will be one of the best fighters hes faced. Apart from Bradley i brook is better than any of them on there. When you look at his close and controversial victories you have to see that maybe Brook has a great chance here.

    What do you guys think?

It's way way better than Kell Brooks that's for sure.

Oh no doubt, that wasnt the point i was trying to make. Im not talking about brooks record. Just alexanders and just pointing out that theres another way of looking at it and maybe we shouldnt be writing brook off just yet

I agree that is the reason why Brook turned down Timothy.
Problem with Brook is he hasn't really been tested other than against journey man Jones, so beating Alexander isn't a given.

Jones is more than a Journey man?
He didn't turn down Bradley because he felt Alexander is an easier fight?

That's a very decent record. He clearly lost to Mathysse and Kotelnik IMO. But his ambition is admirable for a guy who is very average in a lot of areas.

For me, Alexander has flatlined since the Urango fight. He does put himself on the line and he takes tough fights. But his technical flaws are killing his performances. His arms and elbows are held outward like chicken wings instead of elbows tucked in. He yells before he punches allowing his opponents to brace. He doesn’t punch through the target and get full extention on his shots, causing him to frequently hit air and his defensive reflexes are just average which means he gets hit really clean too often. When you are a boxer by nature all of those flaws are hard to overcome.

I think he's ganna find it hard to outbox Brook from range. Kell does better against outside boxers.

Thats a very twisted way of looking at it. Undoubtedly Alexanders had a few sketchy wins but at the same time he hasn't had any completely outrageous fights that have made him look like a better fighter than he is. He has had some fortunate results in close fights but he is a top fighter with some very good wins.

Guys like Bailey, Maidana and Urango really seem to be his cup of tea. Good fighters yet a touch simple in what they can do. The slightly more skilled fighters like Mathysse, Kotelnik and Bradley seem to better him.

Welterweight is a division waiting to be feasted on by the next big thing. Alexander, Malignaggi and even Marquez are all incredible fights for a true welterweight with talent. Even a big welterweight like Margarito or Williams could beat all three of them.

Alexanders a legitimate fighter for Brook to make his announcement onto the world stage but likewise Brook could be a prospect for Alexander to feast on.

He manhandled Maidana... that was a good convincing win... he made Maidana look like a novice..

Maidana looked awful that night, completely disinterested & just not at the races at all.

Tbf Alexander looked excellent but he'll have a much tougher night vs Kell

Alexander spoiled like a ***** against Maidana. Terrible performance and he should have been punished.

Having said that, he's a two or three classes of pure talent above anything Brook has seen/ He's more experienced and more talented. Tough tough fight for Brook. Much credit if he wins.

Kotelnik, Bradley, Mathysse and Maidana all stand a good to great chance of beating Brook, and I would probably favour all of them to get the job done. I ****ing hate watching Alexander fight, his style is horrible, but his resume is solid.

You could tarnish any fighter on the planets record. Not hard to do, the fact is, Alexander has fought a lot of world class fighters, and beat most of them.
