canadian boxing has done well the last few years. winning titles - bute, molitor, diaconu, alcine. but sometimes, nothing beats a massive domestic superfight. could this be to canada what the eubank/been/watson fights were to britain? hopefully the fight delivers. i'm hoping for nothing less than a classic.
I'm looking forward to this fight to see if Diaconu can be impressive against a good opponent like Pascal. Diaconu really needs a convincing win because he hasn't showed much in quite a while now.
how many fans are expected there on the night? reckon the event will bring the best out of these 2 and make for a memorable fight
can't wait to watch this i hope diaconu is stronger than he looked at the weight in. of course he'll rehydrate. he didn't look too good yesterday. little, shrunken, drawn-looking. the strength will likely be there early but will he have late stamina? pascal may get stronger going up in weight
Well judging by the weight he either is in great shape or drained. By the looks of things he is in normal phazes. He always looks like that.Tonight he will be a lot bigger than that(if he made the weight properly).
these 2 could be a perfect foil to each other. i hope both finally perform to their best. hoping for a great fight and maybe even rematches. hope it doesn't end up a one-sided win for either guy normally talented fighters with the same promoter are kept apart. could end up being a good thing for pascal that he lost that war to froch.
ah, i thought they were both with GYM should have known, that diaconu was with the same promoter as bute anyone think diaconu is a bit of a mormeck - ie strong pressure guy, moves in nicely, applies heavy pressure, but maybe doesn't have the gas anymore?
this fight sort of reminds me of Eubank-Watson 2. Both were middles, both jumped up to super middle and got ranked for vacant title. Even though there were fighters ahead of them in the rankings. A case of economics blatantly influencing a title fight. In this case, Pascal getting a title shot in his 1st bout at light heavy, straight after (exciting) loss at super middle. Clearly, he got the shot out of convenience for Canadian superfight. Personally, I'm just glad an interesting fight that ppl give a damn about, can be made. I hope they put on a great fight like Eubank & Watson do, but obviously without the terrible injuries that Watson got in their classic rematch.
