Looks like Diaconu injured one of his hands in the fight against Sheika last friday. There were talks about making a Cloud-Diaconu fight on the undercard of Bute-Paclik in March. If that can't be done. I think they should make Cloud-Andrade instead. It would be a war and the winner could face Diaconu next. Everybody win. (even the fans... for once)
Any combination of Cloud, Andrade, and Diaconu would be great. I know there is also talk of Dawson-Cloud happening early next year and that would be a good fight as well. But give me Cloud defending against either Andrade or Diaconu instead, those would be brutal.
If Diaconu injured his hand and he can't go after Cloud then it's the end of his career.The chances are very high for him to retire.Interbox wanted Diaconu to challenge for the IBF light heavyweight crown but if he can't do it they could trow Bute in there against Cloud after Pavlik or if the Pavlik negotiations fail. Will Cloud be willing to fight Bute ?
If they saw his garbage performance against Shieka and want to add a name fighter to their resume, you bet they do!
