A discussion of this arose in one of the RbR threads. Diamante uses about 4 or 5 different ones, several of which are very annoying, but might be less so if he wasn't overloading the start of fight with so many He needs just one. "From the four corners of the world to the four corners of this ring.." is the best and most original in my view. The rest of it is trite crap and VERY annoying!!! What do others think?
I find this one extremely problematic and non-inclusive. Let's just start with the fact the 4 = 4 is part of a colonial oppressive matrix.
Sometimes I feel like he is a breath of fresh air, and I could grow to enjoy him. Most of the time I want to turn off the TV.
Okay....so, which one do you like? Or do you just think he's terrible and somebody should coax Michael Buffer out of semi-retirement ?
We need true BIPOC representation with an affiliated message of equity and inclusion to introduce our savages who attempt beat out the brains of one another. Don't fall short of the prize!
Agreed. But if we have to put up with this clown, at least they could get him to drop the superfluous, over-the-top catchphrases.
My issues with him are how he repeats the fighters surname, eg Anthony ‘AJ’ Joshua….Joshua (wtf is that about) and repeats ‘I said are you ready…’ even after a great crowd response first time round.
