The diamond belts are for special elite boxers that can fight at a catch weight and still win. The more diamond belts you have the more you stand out from the rest.

Here's the thing, when you fight for a regular belt, you pay a sanctiong fee and you actually pay the sanctioning body the belt itself on top of the sanctioning fee. In this case, they're just charging for the belt and skipping the sanctioning fee.

its just a belt. why should you have to pay a sanctioning fee for 3 letters on a belt?

You have missed an extremely important word in your thread, which has resulted in me being confused!

It was a simple word, it would have been one of two choices, both single syllable and one being made of three letters, while the other being made of just one!

If only you hadn't omitted that one word.

Oh well, hopefully someone else has picked up on it later in the thread, so that I may lay my confusion to rest until a later time. I wonder if anyone has cleared it up in the thread...

... have a look, shall we?

I wonder how much you'd get in the pawn shop for it?

****! It's too late to phone Cash Generator's. They've closed. At a guess, I'd say they would offer up to £88.

The old WBC belt looked nice, the new one (that Froch has for example) looks tacky. Does anyone have pictures of both to compare?

Also the IBF had a really old fashioned one (Terry Marsh as an example) and a nice new one.

The WBO one has changed a little too.

Not sure if the WBA belt has changed a lot.

Thanks for the reply, mate (and cheers Doby! Though you are being lighthearted, you certainly have a point!).

I have never concerned myself with these weird governing bodies, or whatever you call them. I think having all these alphabet groups, or whatever you lot dismissively call them, are one of the main reasons that people lose interest in boxing, or more importantly, it puts people off to begin with and makes boxing a hard sport to get into.

Thanks again, Brickfists (and Doby), just quickly though, what is the national group in Eire? I can't think of anything particularly Irish. That said though, my mind is suffering zombiism today, as I didn't sleep last night, been drinking today and am so completely tired now! When I look at this thread tomoz, I'm gonna think.. "you ****ing idiot! why are you asking stupid ****ing questions!!?", I'll then punish my brain again, for it's disobedience, with more beers!
