Gary Mason UD in a war. I dont think Chisora has shown enough yet for me to think he could beat Mason who is under rated as a boxer and a real tough man. Chisora would keep coming at Mason but i think Masons jab and toughness would see him win enough rounds to take a UD. This opinion might change after the Haye fight but from what i have seen so far of Del Boy i would have to choose Mason.
I'd have to go with Mason too at present, like Don says the Haye fight will tell us more about G$ora but at the moment i'd pick Mason. Gary as better quality punches, hits harder and is just as tough, if not tougher. I like G$ora's poor man's Frazier style, but he still needs to work on technique. It shows the poor quality of the division when G$ora gets a title shot 15 fights into his career and Gary did'nt get close to one after going 35-0 and being in the top 10 for quite some time. That was largely down to Mickey Duff favouring Bruno if i remember rightly. Mason decision win in a quality domestic scrap.
G$ora by MD/SD, if he comes highly motivated & in top shape. Otherwise, Mason takes this battle on the cards.
Anyone who can last a few rounds with Mason and lay some leather on him has a small chance because of his tendency to swell up. However, here I think that the styles favour Mason: he had trouble if he had to look for his target, but he was just a brutal freight train if people tried to go to war with him, with bodyshots and VERY heavy hands. I don't see G$ora having the stamina to keep on winning the rounds as the fight progresses. Mason SD in a WAR. It would be a bit like a heavyweight Eubank-Thompson.
I haven't seen the Lewis fight in years (And I'm not going to watch it all again this moment ) so can anyone tell me if Mason was ever dropped in his pro career?
Forgot to say m8, G$ora showed a good jab VS Sam Sexbomb Sexton (rematch) And Noniashvili.:bbb And Chinsaurus showed mint toughness VS Fury, Robbery Helenius And Vitlay.:!: Never down, same as Del Boy.
Mason to win a hard fought decision, but clear decision over Del-Boy, surging in the late rounds to overcome a positive start by Chisora. Like everyone else, I think it would be a hell of a fight, but I think Mason's edge in punching technique and power carries the day in the end. Kind of wonder how Mason would have fared had he been able to continue on with his career. I don't think he'd ever have been able to get the better of Lewis, but I wouldn't have ruled out his chances completely against some of the other title-holders of that era.
