Diaz should fight a mandatory for his next fight (Campbell, Katsidis etc.) to keep his belts and build a bigger name and buzz. While Pacquiao fights David Diaz for the WBC belt.

If they both win those bouts....That would be the set up for a BIG Lightweight unification bout in mid to late 2008!!

I know I'm leaving Casamayor out of these plans, but I'd rather see Pacquiao-Diaz than Casamayor-Diaz. But Casa can take on the winner afterwards.

    thoughts???

If Diaz collected all 4 title belts and Pacquiao moved up to challenge him, it would be a superfight. I don't know how much the public would care or how much casual fans who enjoy watching boxing from time to time would care, but this would be a true fight fans dream come true.

yea, but Diaz doesn't need to collect all 4 belts, Pacquio can help him by taking on David Diaz next for the WBC strap... then the unification superfight would take place.

I would rather see Pac vs JMM 2 and Diaz vs Casamayor. Then I would maybe like to see this fight.

That would not be the easiest way to ensure a Diaz-Pacquiao superfight. At all. :yep

are you saying Campbell or Katsidis can actually beat Juan, or David can beat Pacquiao?

Moreso worried about Juan than Manny. Neither Nate or Michael are pushovers.

yeah, but I'd still favor Juan over both of them. Katsidis is like the Cincinnatti Bengals of boxing, he has NO defense but he'll guarantee a shootout. I think Juan can tee off on his head with 5 punch combos all night and win. Campbell can turn out to be a lil tricky, but Juan's pressure will get to him.

I like Casa and a lot of people still recognize him as the real lw champion, but unfortunately casa if far past his prime now..But even when he fights at 70% of what he once was he can still beat a lot of top fghters and/or prospects.
That guy was just amazing in his prime
