Diaz poses no threat to Georges St. Pierre

If he comes in with brass knuckles it may get interesting.

 

Diaz is the underdog no doubt but he does have a pretty good ground game. His striking is also effective and he does have power to hurt gsp. If gsp decides to keep this fight on their feet and i give diaz a chance to win by TKO.

 

I agree with the original poster. I think some people are getting caught up in the hype of Diaz' recent exciting performances against sub par opposition.

 

GSP bleeds easily. If Diaz breaks GSP's nose or causes a bad cut it could get very interesting. GSP looked very human in his last fight. I wouldn't bet on Diaz to win but it's not going to be a walk in the park for GSP. I like this match and I can't wait for it. We're finally seeing hopefully the start of a permanent run of co-promotion matches. It shouldn't be downplayed.

 

Diaz is likely going to have to sub GSP, which I don't think is going to happen.

GSP doesn't have to strike with Diaz, and will likely be able to put him on his back at will. I think Diaz' power is more the cumulative type, where you can get into trouble with him if you stand and trade for periods of time.

Unless Diaz gets lucky and lands a triangle, I can see George passing and working hammer fists/ gnp, hopefully some submission attempts. If George gets overconfident he could go for a sub and end up in some trouble. He is usually cautious with good grapplers so I would expect this to be a slow paced grind where GSP wins a wide U.D.

 

Diaz certainly has a chance to win. the difference between all past opponents of gsp. is diaz brings the fight. he backs himself,

plus also this gives GSP his best shot of getting a ko or tko. since diaz wont be hiding.

my prediction doc stoppage. diaz cuts easily.

People have been calling for GSP to finish a fight for ages and you're going to get it.

Diaz is a piece of **** for GSP to takedown and Diaz gets cut easily.

GSP will put Diaz on his back with ease and cut him up.

Nicks very tough, but his TD defence sucks and he has tissue paper skin and too much scar tissue around the eyes.

 

^This. (Although I do give credit to Diaz for beating Daley on the feet.) It's not going to be a competitive (or exciting) fight. I really don't understand why people are getting so worked up over it.

diaz isnt afraid to bang with gsp and he will definetly beat gsp on the feet his boxing is much more skilled than gsp's and plus nick's got better BJJ than jake shields so gsp will have a tough time laying on him.

 

I don't understand how people can say a striker like Diaz has "no chance" against a fighter that we know can be marked up, can be hurt by punches, and can be stopped.

A GSP win is probable, but to write Diaz off completely is silly.

 

I dont know how GSP will deal this this much skill...
