GSP wins every round and would beat Diaz's last few opponents on the same night.

Alves, Fitch, Koscheck and Penn are all better than anyone Diaz has beaten.

Diaz poses no threat? Give me a break. That's about as stupid as those saying Diaz is going to wreck GSP.

 

Generally although not universally. However the start of my post reads more like a narrative using your post as a jump off point.

That's the thing. Of course any fighter can win if something extraordinary happens but if the normal Diaz faces the normal St. Pierre is there any reason to expect the former to be competitive against the later. And just as when the same question was asked about Shields the answer is no. Diaz's striking is not the type to really discomfort St. Pierre (he lacks one punch knock out power, is himself hittable and can be susceptible to kicks) while he has shown a repeated inability to submit wrestlers from the bottom. Therefore I feel confident in saying Diaz has no clear route to victory against GSP; he'll will either have to be far better than his previous performances or GSP far worse.

As for Diaz against UFC welterweights - pretty much as everyone says. Hell Diaz's takedown defense is so bad even Penn and Alves would probably just hold down for three rounds.
