Diaz is a class act & I sincerely hope he pulls through. I had a friend who died because of the same injury, although his was from a car accident.

Yeah, Leavander was in a medically induced coma (Diaz isn't apparently), and he never came out of it. Sad to just remember. He died on my birthday. :verysad

This is the kind of stuff that kind of makes you feel guilty for loving boxing or even doing boxing. At the heart of boxing, its all about damaging your opponent. Sucks when **** like this happens.

It doesn't make me feel guilty about boxing. We always realize when we step into the ring that it's dangerous; there's a big warning about it on the first page of my passbook. It just reminds me that this isn't a game like baseball and football; the consequences in this, even if you're in great shape, are a good fighter, and are ready to go, can be much more drastic than any other sport. That's part of why people like it. You're putting your ass on the line. Diaz knew that; and his fans did too, and that's why they cheered for him, for his willingness to put himself on the line to put on a show for them. I just hope he pulls out of it ok.

Hope it turns out okay for him, obviously he'll never box again but things like this make you realise how insignificant that is to just being alive .

That's kind of what I thought of too. This is terrible news- I didn't catch anything that happened on WNF until just now. At least Diaz seems to be doing at least a half step better than LJ was, so hopefully he can pull through this.

This new really shocked me. I had to go to bed early, and the last I thing I saw was Delvyn rodriguez get rocked hard.

Is there any more news? It would be good if any updates could be logged in this thread.
