I've just got Setanta sorted on my freeview box (yes, I know I'm a tight arse that should fork out for Sky) and it all seemed to be going fine. I watched some of the Matthews card after the rugby and was looking forward to the Diaz(s) fight. However, the clock hit 3, the channel cut off and the guide on my box reckoned the channel had reached its close for the day. Has anybody else had the same problem? Is it to do with my box or is it Setanta on freeview in general? If the latter's the case, I'm feeling pretty cheated, given that I mainly paid for it in order to get the overseas boxing. Anybody?
I havent ordered Setanta, but i remember hearing on here a while back that Setanta moved the channel half way through a boxing broadcast. Hop through the channels, & hopefully you will pick it up mate. Best of luck. & if the worst comes to the worst, retune the channels & flick through them again. I hope you get it my good man.
If you have Sentanta on Freeview you can't always get all the programs that the people who have it through a Sky box can....dunno why but i think last week Barrera-Pac fight may have been the same....
That is unbelievable. Whoever runs Setanta clearly does not have a brain. If they want to lose customers then they are going the right way about it. For some reason, I got Setanta yesterday and was able to watch the Matthews card for free from my free veiw box. Anyone else with free view get this free like me?
I'm watching the 6pm repeat, I hate staying up for American fights although It seems It would of been worth It.
I have Setanta on freeview & they better not fcuk up the live showing's on Calzaghe-Kessler, Cotto-Mosley! If they do, I'll pull the plug 7 will boycott it! I will also give them some bad publicity. It will be no more than they derserve. Clearly, them highlighting that they are showing Calzaghe-Kessler & Cotto-Mosley is misleading,i f subscribers on freeview don't get see the live showing?
Dumb question: While the JC/MK fight will air on HBO, I'm under the impression that Setanta will carry the major undercard fights as well. Is this true? I've found a pub here in the United States that has Setanta, and it would be worth it to me head out for the undercard fights. Thanks!
it should do, lampley. for previous sports network events, setanta has broadcast the whole card (they've been around 3 hours long) however, its worth checking which setanta the pub shows. e.g. setanta ireland is different to setanta 1 we get in the UK.
Derry vs Matthews was fine for me and couldnt be arsed stayin up till 3 for diaz vs diaz as i had heard the problems with setanta but watched it next day at 1pm and it was fine. Is it just the early morning american fights playing up ? Has anyone had coverage problems with uk fights. I also get it for free so like most of you cant really complain. If i paid for it id be well pissed
Ah, interesting. Thank you. The place I have in mind is an Irish pub, so most likely they'll have Ireland's version of Setanta. If I search online, can I find the information about which regional version of Setanta will be showing what?
Anyone who gets boxing news in the uk take a look at the back , theres and * next to the diazvs diaz fight and lower down in the bumph of writting it says this fight not available to freeview. So no stuff up freeview just dont get it
