Because i'm not as passionate about the sport as i used to. Most of my favorite fighters are past prime or shot. Or not fighting anymore. (or not in the ufc). But UFC's rio card is great , so i'll definitely watch that one....(and i'm also looking forward to see Barnett vs Kharitonov. in strikeforce)
Some really good fights to be made indeed but at this point in time....There's not tons of interesting match ups....occasionally yes. I blame it on the fight promoters.
It means you're trying to warp reality into some weird conspiracy against Fedor. Diaz responded much quicker by turtling up and grabbing the arm whereas Fedor was completely out for a second and only flopped over onto his back he was not in fact intelligently defending himself at that point and it was about to become painfully obvious. There have been plenty of fighter deaths over the years in boxing like Benny Kid Paret, Duk Koo Kim and others and there's no point in subjecting fighters to those risks when it is not necessary. The Fedor stoppage was just and Herb Dean should be commended.
I really do not see what you're seeing. Diaz's body did not go limp. He didn't show any signs that he was gonna get seriously hurt. After the Fedor-Hendo fight was stopped, Fedor even staggered a bit. That's how hurt he was. Yes, Fedor has the ability to come back and win a fight. That is true. Then again Hendo has the ability to cause permanent damage. It does not help that Fedor had previously lost two straight prior to the Hendo fight. Perhaps if Fedor had beaten Werdum and Bigfoot Silva in dominant fashion, Herb Dean could've given him more time for a possible recovery. Tough luck just about sums it up. Even if Fedor had beaten Hendo, it wouldn't mean much. He would've beaten a smaller, older guy which isn't something the public would be extremely impressed with. Fedor's been fighting intelligent fighters who know how to take advantage of his weaknesses. Hence the 3 straight losses. Silvia, Arlovski, and Rogers are all either one dimensional or were intimidated or both which is why Fedor was able to dominate them. It's obvious Fedor can no longer beat a top HW. It was evident in his respective fights with Rogers and Arlovski when he struggled momentarily. Accept it.
I'm not counting out Fedor just yet. The losses weren't one sided. Wedrum trapped Fedor by tricking him into thinking he got rocked, fair play to him. Don't think it would happen again. The Bigfoot fight was stopped because of cuts. And the Hendo fight got stopped prematurely. I would be interested in any of these rematches.
And he got up staggering around like this: This content is protected He was in no condition to defend himself effectively. It was a great stoppage, and I can't believe that anybody is still upset about it. Fedor could have been seriously injured if Hendo were allowed to hit him with more clean shots to the head in that position.
