a glass jaw is so subjective

i dont think he has a glass jaw, he has leaky defence. 90% of fighters that took as many shots as him would have been KO'd in the fight against Casamayor. Its the accumulation of punishment that gets him.

He got knocked down and hurt by the light hitting Earl. Hurt vs Amonsot. Knocked down and hurt vs Casa early who isn't a big puncher, and then knocked out brutally later on.

He has a bad chin, time to face the facts.

He didn't take that many clean hard shots though, he was winning the fight... It wasn't Mayweather v Hatton here.

Face it guys, he just doesn't have a good chin, its very shakey. Anytime Katsidis fights, there is a good chance he will be KTFO because of it. Fighters in the mould of Katsidis really need to have an iron jaw, and he just doesn't have it.

Yeah but he didn't drop from the bomb throwing Ganoy, who punches harder than both. I think his defence leads to him getting dropped. Face first, leaning in, chin in the air.

I was always of the opinion that Katsidis was distracted by the towel being thrown into the ring by Earls corner leading to his knock down.

But Ganoy is not a world class fighter, lets be real here. Not going down against ganoy doesn't prove he has a good chin, when in his last 3 fights he has been badly hurt in every single one, against guys who aren't known punchers.

Plenty of guys in boxing have bad defence, and all action styles. The difference is most have the chin to suit their style of fighting. Katsidis simply doesn't have it.

He will get KTFO by Juan Diaz no question. Imagine what someone like Pac would do...

Looking at the current division, i can't see him beating any of the top guys. Maybe an inconsistent Campbell if he fights very poorly or succumbs to age. Guzman, Marquez, Pac and Diaz are all superior fighters, and i think he would be badly outclassed against them. I like watching him fight, but i think we need to be realistic also about what sort of potential he really has....

I don't think he has a bad chin but he puts himself in stupid situations sometimes. He lost his head against Cas and walked into a huge shot, that was a far bigger punch than the one Mayweather dropped Hatton with. The Earl fight once again he punched himself out going for the kill and showed no respect and got countered again. Don't underestimate the two fold effect of moving into a punch. He's no Shane Mosley that's for sure but I don't think it's glass as he would never got out of the first round against Cas.

you make a lot of sense but jees i hope your wrong.but you gotta admit even Barge would be impressed with his choice of opponent.no easy tune ups for Kat after his first K.O loss.

I hope i'm wrong as well, I love watching him fight, and would love nothing more than to see him pick up a great win.

However he is fighting in one of the deepsest divisions in boxing with the p4p best fighters in the world. Guzman is a very very talented fighter, one who a lot of guys think could beat Pac. Marquez and Pac are widely accepted as being in the top 5 p4p in the world. Diaz was on the verge of breaking into the top 10 p4p before the Campbell fight.

Then you have guys like Gamboa coming into the mix, who some are calling the next superstar of the boxing world.

Its a bloody tough division to be fighting in.

I'll be hoping kats wins but I think diaz is simply the next step up from casa. The baby bull is a legit world class fighter & his experience will get him through the rough stages that kats will provide. I think he'l stop kats in the mid rds. Props to kats for taking on such a big fight after his 1st loss. You gotta make hay while the sun shines they say.

I don't think losses will really hurt Katisidis too much to be honest. I don't see him dominating his division for years or anything like that. He's a brilliant TV fighter who'll draw ratings due to his all action style. He'll get big fights simply due to the way he fights.

    Katsidis-Diaz now in doubt

MICHAEL Katsidis's long-awaited Texan shootout is in jeopardy as former world boxing champ Juan Diaz refuses to fight the Toowoomba slugger in a dispute over boxing gloves.
Diaz and Katsidis, both ex-world champs, are due to collide in Diaz's home town of Houston, Texas on September 6 but the fight has been thrown into doubt because the heavy-hitting Katsidis wants to wear the Mexican brand ``Reyes'' traditionally favoured by sluggers.
``Michael's a big puncher and obviously Diaz is worried about him wearing a puncher's gloves,'' Katsidis's trainer Brendon Smith told The Courier-Mail newspaper from Los Angeles yesterday.
``This is the third time Michael and Diaz have been due to fight and it's a major pay-per-view event on (telecaster) HBO so we don't want any slip-ups.''
Katsidis and Diaz suffered their first losses in their previous fights in major upsets. Diaz lost his three world lightweight crowns when outpointed by Nate Campbell, an American who was twice knocked out by Brisbane's Robbie Peden.
Katsidis was sensationally stopped by Olympic gold medallist Joel Casamayor when he appeared poised for victory.
He says he wants to beat Diaz and then challenge Manny Pacquiao, the new WBC lightweight champ.
