I would'nt even consider it a catchweight......1 lbs is'nt going to make much difference unless it was a fighter like Cotto who struggles mightily to make his weight limit.

......Mayweather came in at 146 lbs vs JMM, and certainly I would not consider that a catchweight.
Mayweather at 146 lbs is a full blown Welter.....
....the same logic would apply with Malignaggi at 139 lbs, he'd be a full blown Junior welter regardless of that one pound.

    You must have misunderstood me.

If Juan is such a TINY lightweight, why did he and his team agree to fight Paulie at 138 1/2? Juan himself seemed to think that was fair, why do his fans cry foul? Juan and Willie Savannah wanted the rematch at 138 1/2, again, and Savannah initially declined a rematch a 139, a whopping HALF A POUND over the first fight's weight. Even you seemed to act like that half a pound suddenly, and shockingly, made this an unfair fight. That's asinine. Are you telling you half a pound really makes that much of a difference?

Again, if Juan is such a tiny, oversized opponent at any weight above 135, even if it is less than the next weight class up, then he needs to keep his ass at lightweight and forget about moving up. "Poor Juan, it's not fair!!!" Quit crying.

I'm glad they'll try it again. Good luck to both fighters.

I guess we are putting aside the fact that Diaz has been on record saying that he originally wanted to fight paulie as a statement to the 140lb division? Hatton fights there... and he is calling out hatton. Make no mistakes about it. Diaz wants to be a threat at 140. If he wants to fight there he should come all the way. Paulie is doing HIM a favor by giving him a pound (16oz.) that weight just means paulie will have to dehydrate harder and Diaz will have to dehydrate less.

Lmao @ Paulie so desperate of wanting to fight a lightweight fighter again. I like Paulie but this fight is kind of a joke. Paulie is easily the bigger guy while Diaz is clearly the smaller fighter in which shows in the first fight. Yes Paulie got robbed but so what? I mean didn't Alexander called out Paulie since he feel bad for him? Paulie could easily accept the fight for the jw title.

Little Paulie? Who's taller? The reason wants to fight Marquez rematch or Hatton next cause EITHER ONE OF THEM BRINGS MORE MONEY!!! While Paulie doesn't. Diaz i think knows that at junior welterweight division is not his weight but if Marquez stays at junior welterweight or Hatton comes out of retirement who brings more money either Hatton or Marquez? or fight Paulie? And why is Paulie so desperate of wanting a rematch vs a lightweight? I believe Alexander said he would like to give Paulie a shot of the jw title.

Yes it's Sergio Martinez. They didn't mention who he's fighting but said both Sergio and Ortiz are going to have stay-active type of fights. Nothing too serious and nothing too easy, just something in between to keep them active.

They didn't mention the location yet. I doubt it will be there though, would be stupid to negotiate a rematch in the same place he got robbed.
