Why would you be sorry? You seem to be going out of your way to start so surely you would celebrate if it is that bad? Or is that sarcasm?
1) So is it Dib's fault that the ref didn't take of a point? No. 2) Again, not Billy's fault. 3) Your opinion. 4) So beating Phillip Payne,Carlos Contreras, Jose Alberto Gonzales, Rogers Mtagwa and Edgar Vargas doesn't count as winning a fight overseas? Bull****.
Haterade, don't bother wasting your time mate. Billy Dib has been bagged from pillar to post on many an occasion in this forum. He is being crucified for this and yet there has been very little talk of Yamaguchi pushing the ref and coming towards Billy. He hit the guy late and has accepted it. I have always been a fan of Billy Dib. people say he came into the ring cocky, FFS how about the antics of Yamaguchi? Unfortunately, it seems to me that Billy will continually have his detractors. Good luck to the kid. You raised the point in the last post - at least Billy has had a go overseas. I'm not condining by any stretch what he did, but surely, he didn't control the ref's decision. BTW, how's all the newbies? I wonder of they are the same person. Comments seem so similar.
I like Billy.....sad to see the late shot....it looked very bad. I wonder if this will be the end of his contract with GBP?
Umm,,, No that is FANS of boxing that are pissed off by people that claim to be ALL THAT who don't do **** when given a chance in the States and then fighting some Japanese unknown punch him in the face when he is getting off the canvas probably cause they didn't want him to continue.
Phil your putting up a very strong case for Billy here...were these people who came charging through the ropes anonymous to Billy?? If they were strangers how come Billy and his team looked very comfortable with them hovering around menacing Yamaguchi and his corner team??:think You would think Billy, Dibb and the handlers would have **** themselves thinking they were bein threatened aswell??
I am sure that a trainer like Emmanuel Steward would not allow any thug friends/family members of his boxers carry on like uncivilised animals.
Ill bet you ANY TIME he fights a decent not even good DECENT fighter overseas and gets A TRUE WIN a true win not one OScar has paid for or some bull**** bad ref like Thursday night. Dib is the biggest joke to ever hit the boxing scene in Australia and to have that clown in fight night 4 is a DISGRACE and no not just my Opinion EVERYONE with a brains opinion
Consider for a minute this report of the Dib vs Yamaguchi bout from a reputable on-line source: 'In a fantastic opening night of ‘SuperBoxer’, the feature event finished with a spectacular 1st Round KO victory by Billy ‘The Kid’ Dib over Kenichi Yamaguchi. With an entertaining, yet unorthodox style, Yamaguchi from Japan, rushed and charged at the ‘The Kid’ and at one point tackled Dib'. 'Dib, the consummate professional, picked his moment and with literally just seconds left in the first round, pounced with a multiple punch combination and finished Yamaguchi brilliantly. The two brave fighters embraced post-bout in the dressing rooms, sharing their thoughts and respect for one another in one what was an entertaining opening to ‘SuperBoxer’...' What about the punch Dib delivered when Yamaguchi was down? What about the ruckus in the ring immediately after the bout? What about the fact that Dib clearly shoved Yamaguchi away after the bout? Am I the only one that sees this report as being a bit 'efficient' with the facts??
I am not saying that they were unknown to him - I'm not an Idiot (despite popular opinion - Leon sit down and shut up), I am saying he cannot be reasonably held responsible for the conduct of fighters friends and rellies if they turn around and do something like that. Billy rightly tried to get them out but it is the need for greater security that needs to be scrutinised here - I'ld like to see a security guard on every corner of the ring personally
This is obviously a tricky one to police Phil or it would already have been fixed up after the Kickett v Elomar farce. If patrons run onto most sporting arenas (footy, cricket etc) the fines that apply are usually in the $1000's. Perhaps a system where highly visible vests or jackets are supplied to each corner (and only the bare minimum required) prior to each bout, and if anyone enters the ring not wearing one they get fined large, might work? ...plus a gorilla dressed in black in each corner to discourage it happening.
