Totally a NO CONTEST at the very least. What is you opinion on slugging a guy on the canvass....should it have simply been a point, disqualification, warning. These things can happen in the heat of the battle however Dibb clearly stepped to the side and whopped him! Absolutely deliberate action. Only a few weeks back Sio was disqualified for the same insane act on a felled opponent Humano. Can you see a difference here?
What a crock of ****. Open your eyes next time you are watching boxing, it might help with subtle insights that you missed lastnight. The Japanese fighter was an idiot (much like the way Dib is) and had a very awkward style and obviously a ton of energy (nervous). He pretty much just walked into Dib winging punches which mostly missed and Dib paniced (totally lacking composure), combined with his absolutely horrendous balance, he managed to find himself on the canvas, arguably not a KD, but it occured because of Yamiguchi's wild style, and Billy Dib's lack of composure and balance, not out of any malice intent to foul. Dib should have been instantly DQ'd for the shot on the ground. The three shots that put Yamiguchi down weren't big blows and it looked like Yamiguchi lost his footing on the second one. A clear knockdown, but he would have gotten up pretty comfortably. There was a large gap between him hitting the canvas and Dib throwing a late shot, it was CLEARLY intentional and totally effected the outcome. And then after it all happened he proceded to push Yamiguchi fairly aggressively, totally uncalled for, and provoked the shenanigans. If i didn't know better i'd say you were the incompetent third man in the ring. :yep Anyone defending Dib is an absolute embarrassment to boxing. The only reason Australian boxing gets away with so many ridiculous decisions and events is because we are so insignificant on the global boxing scene, but sooner or later people are going to start realising its a joke, especially when a fighter like Dib keeps being involved in terribly officiated fights, and foreign fighters keep getting wroughted.
I thought Jones Jr proclaimed how Australia seemed like a place to get a fair go... lol He might have to re-evaluate his situation
I agree with pretty much everything that has been said already. I will make a few points - * Dibb is a disgracefull **** of **** the way he conducted himself and he will go nowhere in the world of boxing imo. Yes he can beat journeymen, big deal, he will never ever register a win against a top level boxer on the world stage. Steve Leuvano nearly shut him out and although a belt holder Leuvano is not considered anything great. * What the **** is wrong with that referee ? It was the most blatant disqualification you could possibly have in a boxing contest. Very similar to the recent Solomon Haumono fight. At the very least the referee should have given the opponent 5 minutes to recover and deduct Dibb 2 points. * As a boxing fan you really have to shake your head in disbelief at some refereeing and judging that occurs as shown in the Dibb fight and the judge that scored the Eddie Chambers heavyweight fight a draw recently. Most keen boxing fans that post on the different boxing message boards would be able to referee/judge a fight miles better/more accurately. How can some referees/judges get it so blatantly wrong ? * Many people comment on how Billy Hussain is a good man and i'm sure he is. Why is it that he associates himself with some total ****wits ? * Johnny Lewis is a senile old man who talks absolute rubbish.
I will leave it there with yourself for I have no wish to discuss with someone who disregards or downplays my thought whilst puching their's and then claiming they need to do this to "handle people".:tired Your suggestions about watching more fights in order to back up what every punter saw are just nonsense. I have no need to go into how long I have been around or my involvment in the sport from the grassroots up - I can spot cheating a mile away.
My opinion is that act like a **** get ****ed like a **** - and the Japanese fighter was acting like a ****. As I have stated I think a NC was in order however whilst two wrongs do not make a right I understand fully someone dishing out when they have been fouled repeatedly.
People like yourself are probably why I post so little here. You make contradict yourself immediately giving the Japanese free pass after free pass and professing even to know his motivations. I should ask you were you one of the dickheads in the corner that taught him how to rugby tackle? Does he not know the frickin' rules? There were numerous blatant fouls committed by the Japanese fighter but not much mention from yourself - seems like he gets a free pass whilst you focus on Dib. Both committed wrong but your dislike for Dib seems to make you focus solely on that. BTW the japanese fighter shoved the ref aggressively - funny how you mention Dib pushing after the ***** got in his face again. Why did the Japanese fighter get in Dib's face when Les was responsible for the decision?:huh Seems like he did that even before the event started, all therough the week and even on the night throwing punches millimeters from Dib's head before the bout had even started.
Please, those images in post #73 all happened in the matter of 2 seconds! How is he meant to stop throwing the combination? Look at the video on youtube, pause when Dib throws the first punch, and then play again, pause when he throws the punch after Yamaguchi was knocked down. Yamaguchi tried to overplay what had happened, and the referee made his decision that he could not continue. How is that Dib's fault? Did he pick the referee? Les Fear should have let Yamaguchi recover in the minutes break and no body would be crying blue murder. And you said it Leon, you saw Yamaguchi throw a punch after Dib was floored. I assure you, many people ringside like myself, saw that punch. None of you are saying Yamaguchi should be DQ'd. And why did Yamaguchi approach Billy Dib if he was not looking for trouble, to congratulate him? No way. Some one approaches you with a angry look on their face, you push them away. I would have done the exact same thing! And so would've you.
But your talking poop mate..Leon has backed his opinion up with evidence but you yourself refuse to watch it again. Your only comeback is to say Im not discussing this or having a winge that Leon isnt respecting your opinion..Whats to respect when you arent basing it on anything. The Jap was by no means innocent in this...but his unorthodox and nervous start which resulted in one accidental knee and a couple of wrestles pales in comparison with Billy clearly taking a cheap shot with an opponant on the ground...not to mention a pretty flagrant forearm to the face. Its not as though this is the first time Billy has done something like this..His biting incident has not been forgotten. I blame the ref more so...He should have taken action against Dib and let the fight continue. Then Billy probably would have got his rhythm and given this Japanese kid a hiding down the stretch. Then there wouldnt have been hardly any talk about this incident.
You said you had involvement from grass roots upwards in Australian boxing...no wonder the sport here resembles poorly organised backyard brawls, people involved in the sport with opinions such as yours is what is ****ing to death very slowly our boxing game....which one were you in the ring last night??? Promoting the behaviour of Dibb is purely ****ing stupid and disgraceful.... Before you go the man with rolling out the boring "haters" line take a look at what you are endorsing in a fragile second (probably third) tier sport in this country. I like Dibb, I like all Aussie boxers, you just wish the dickheads who bring it into disrepute simply pull thier heads in and make a fist of it or **** off!!
Your a clown. Who said anyone was promoting Dib's behaviour. I have stated outright both are at fault, the Japaanese more so and it was a bad decision. Can you comprehend now?
But the knee! What about the knee! Um, pretty much everyone here disagrees with you about the fouls. Everyone saw them? By everyone you mean yourself. Lets get that straight. I downplay your thoughts? Well you did go tell me to go **** myself which I see you've since edited. If only you could go back and edit some of the other non existent points you've made. You can spot cheating a mile away...yet you cant spot a 3 punch to the head combo...hmmm.
And as Much as DIB sucks and is all hype THE REF Les Fear should be BANNED yes I know that is harsh but this is more then once Australian refs have screwed up as it appears to happen all the damn time. Les Fear should be banned for at least a few months because 1- It should have been DQed 2- If not a DQ then fine, 1 point plus giving time for the other fighter to recover. 3- Should have warned Dib, But Clearly did not. Ban him now
