Bob Arum: "Berto was a possibility, but I don't believe that he is any longer. The WBC is insisting that he do his mandatory. The plan will still be for Cotto to fight in the middle of February and there are several candidates."

DiBella has stated that the WBC had nothing to do with the fight not going forward, he doesn't believe that Arum really wanted to make the fight.

Lou DiBella: “When I first spoke to Arum, we discussed the possibility of a non-title fight. I was ready to make the fight. I don’t know if Arum and Cotto really wanted the fight. We discussed the numbers, the money was there, and then Arum calls me and says he went over the details with everyone [Top Rank president Todd deBoef and Team Cotto] and they weren’t interested because we were too far apart.”

i don't think cotto wants to come back and fight someone as dangerous as berto, i think he will give a rematch to mosley or malinaggi, its a smart move by cotto, its not what the fans want to see but its the best thing for him in the long term.

    ''I don't know if......'',DiBella is full of **** himself.
Berto should man up and fight Collazo to see if he is the real deal or not

I thought this fight wouldn't come off. And I agree, I would like to see Berto in there with Collazo.

Arum wants to make sure Cotto and Margarito win their next match so he can make the rematch.

neither Arum nor DiBella are credible sources

Thats just plain ******ed. No one who fights Antonio Margarito Pre-Cotto is a ducking type, any fight with Margo before the Cotto fight was terribly high risk with a very low reward for winning.

I don't know how you can get on team Berto for trying to fight Cotto. Cotto is a much tougher opponent than Collazo.
