I dont believe it. Not only because Berto's team is trying to fight Cotto. But, the fact that his team is trying to fight an opponent with a pulse. DiBella is full of ****.

I take it you ment Margo and Margo will fight Cotto again because:
A: It would make him a lot of money
    B: Cotto deserves a rematch
C: Arum promotes both so from that standpoint it makes sense

I think Benny was talking about Mosley and Malignaggi.

I agree. Cotto should go in there and actually take a belt from a champ for once in his pitiful ****ing career!

I don't see why this fight is such an insult to Cotto fans. Yet, they applaud him for low-blowing his way to a victory over the chicken-dance man.

This fight would be great for the division maybe around the end of 09. As Berto's level of competition steadily intensifies, he will continue to hone his skills and soon will be able to confidently confront the likes of Cotto and any other elite welter. Currently Berto isn't developed enough for Cotto but guys like Collazo will provide a stiff test and give Berto goods rounds. In the end Dibella ended up making the smartest choice for Berto.

Pitiful career? Wow...you ARE a hater :bart

I think Cotto didn't see the point of beating him and not getting the belt...I mean if he beat him...what makes you think Berto would want to give him a rematch for the belt, when he can just walk away with a loss and keep his belt (Pavlik ring a bell...)?

But I do think Arum is a ****in' ass clown that needs to loosen up on his fighters...If Cotto wants to fight Berto or Cintron or whoever besides this lame ass fight with Jennings...so be it...

I personally hope and feel that Cotto cuts the strings with Arum and just promotes himself...so he can REALLY make a name for himself...or at least find a better promoter...

    Co-sign :good

I think Berto has some GREAT skills unlike what some here think...But it's a good assumption that Berto would get handled quite bad by Cotto...

His performance against Forbes wasn't impressive AT ALL!...He beat him, but seemed gased and taken to a limit...not life and death...but just simply nothing left to deliver as far as gameplan and strategy goes...

Cotto on the other hand boxed the **** outta Margarito for quite awhile until the pressure finally kicked in.

I would personally like to see Berto in there with either Quintana, Cintron, or Judah...those would be GREAT tests for him...

I feel he'll get past Collazo with ease...not by KO either...but a wide UD...in a boring fashion...giving everyone a shitty picture as to what Berto carries in his bag of tricks...

    No. :nono

I just think Cotto is overrated. Name a champion whose belt he has taken. Just one.

People act like he was the #1 rated WW because he actually dethroned someone. He never did. It was a crown that was bestowed upon him. Now some of his fans act like it's a big ****ing insult for someone to want to fight him?

Berto ain't polished, and clearly hasn't fully reached his potential, but Cotto has been hurt before by Zab and Shane both. I think Berto stands about a 30-40% chance in there with him.

    Overrated in what sense?

He wasn't the number one WW...Quite frankly no one is at this point...Cotto was the BIGGEST WW (as far as name goes)

Sure...I understand your frustration as far as getting all this clout without "achieving anything", but I think most of this comes from his opposition and his dominant victories...you say being hurt by Shane like its something unheard of...The man is a world class fighter...and Zab regardless of his losses is one of the most dangerous gatekeepers between them all...better than Collazo and Lazcano...He has massive potential...

I think you underestimate his talent because of the "hype" train that you're growing tiresome over...Who can you honestly say can outbox Shane ****in' Mosley?

Had he beaten Margarito...what would your opinion be of him then? Still more hype?...:bart

I can't understand how you think Cotto's overrated, but think CLottey is sooo much better...

Clottey is underrated...but hasn't done anything of significance either...less than Cotto as a matter of fact...

And those %'s I would agree with...but again...who's the underdog in that fight...being 30% means that 70% goes to Cotto...that's a pretty large margin :think

I agree , Berto does lack the experience of cotto and I would favor cotto if they fought but Berto is a big welter he's listed at 5'9 5'10 even though his chin is shaky his size and speed make him dangerous opponent for Cotto after his loss to margarito .

If Cotto were overrated believe me floyd would have jumped at the chance to beat him last year, after the Mosley win, in what would have been a huge fight between unbeatens. floyd's total unwillingness to ever even consider fighting Cotto indicates exactly how dangerous Cotto is. Just look at what it took to subdue him. Cotto beats down floyd decisively.
