30-26 Velásquez, second & third both somewhat close but not enough sustained quality from Padilla.

    Round 1 Velasquez 10-8
    Round 2 Velasquez 10-9
    Round 3 Velasquez 10-9
    Round 4 Padilla 10-9

Solid round from Padilla, he marched forward landing hooks to the boy and in combination on Thomas. Thomas landing one at a time.

4th round was the first Padilla round for me, thought round 2 was close and 3 was Velazquez favored.

Saw a youtube clip about this kid Velazquez before.

Trains out of Danny Garcias gym and Ive a feeling that he was in some way promoted by Garcia as well

Padilla still lobbing the right hook and line drive left combination to Velásquez's head unsuccessfully, but once his momentum carries him in close he is peppering shots on the body, now outworking Velásquez.

    10-9 Padilla

    39-36 Velásquez

    Round 1 Velasquez 10-8
    Round 2 Velasquez 10-9
    Round 3 Velasquez 10-9
    Round 4 Padilla 10-9
Round 5 Padilla wins by TKO

Padilla picks up where he left off, lands a vicious hook, rocks Thomas to his core, he's on bambi legs, Padilla follows up, unloading bombs, he smashes him with a left, he goes sailing down on his backside he gets back up, the ref seems unsure, but let's it continue, Padilla goes back to work, Thomas goes down on a slip, they continue, Padilla unloading, the ref mercifully steps in and waves it.

Alright, well Padilla does at least seem to have some legit power, in that clubbing right hook anyway. (though maybe the first 2-3 were borderline rabbit punches)

Weird moment for the ref to jump in but Velásquez likely wasn't recovering from that barrage, so, meh.

    TKO5!

    Padilla - Velasquez

    1: 8:10
    2: 10:9
    3: 10:9
    4: 10:9
    5: TKO win for Padilla

Nice fight. Padilla needs to work on some things, but he learned from this fight.

Got caught trying to throw half assed hooks to the body and having his face wide open. Hooks were pretty much landing at will from Padilla.
