It would be the toughest test for Martinez imo. Pirog is vastly overrated due to one KO of an unproven prospect. I wonder how many other times a lot of the guys that say what a beast he is have sen him fight?

I think Pirog is a good fighter but I still think some are hyping him a little too prematurely. He's beaten one prospect in Jacobs and maybe a faded veteran or two like Jantuah. Instead of going from a prospect in Jacobs to one of the best fighters in the world, Pirog should face someone in between those two. Actually a Pirog-Dzinziruk match up would be interesting and give us a good idea of where Pirog stands.

martinez has fought 2 lightmiddleweights in his last 2 fights. it's now time for the middleweight champ to finally get back to fighting legit middleweight titleholders/top contenders.

Bradley had fought at 147 against abregu and believe me, there isn't much of a difference between bradley and pac's size. Pac weighed 143 for his 150lbs fight with Margo. he walks around at 148, about the same as his weight class today. Martinez walks around at 170, if he wants a pac comparison he should fight at or near that weight too.

A better comparison of martinez calling out pac is Floyd making a lightweight come up to a 143 lbs catchweight.

Martinez caught Pavlik at a time when Pavlik was having a lot of problems with weight and alcohol. Him and diBella know that, and Martinez will NEVER fight another middleweight.

Yes, yes .. that would be good, that would settle the middle weight division. I´d would see these fights come to be.

Yup...its too much risk and too little reward with Pirog
Martinez is already 36 and wants to fight big names only...he might loose to Pirog and not make the money he wants to make, so it makes perfect sense that Dibella won't want this fight to happen.

Martinez should fight Mayweather at 154, that would be a huge fight and it will generate alot of money, also a huge fight for the fans. Floyd is gotta get his ass back into the ring asap and fight Martinez.

Sergio beat Pavlik at a time where Pavlik couldn't deal with guys with good movement and fast hands, that time was Kelly Pavlik's boxing career. Martinez is now looking for big pay days because he's mid 30s and unfortunately no one at middleweight presents that because guys like Pirog are too happy with dining out on 1 win over a hype job rather than building up his name with lots of decent wins.

People who claim he's picking on smaller dudes need to get their heads out of their ****s to be honest. The only reason he's the middleweight champion and not the light middle champ is because the middleweight belt is more prestigious. It's not like he's 6'2 and 190lbs on fight night like some people would have you believe.

Dibella is a ****ing idot. He's blaming Pirog because the ABC's stripped Martinez, wtf? Pirog had the chance to fight for a vacant belt of course he's going to take the oppertunity. He didn't have **** to do with Martinez getting stripped. He knows Pirog would make Martinez look human and take his crown. **** Lou Dibella. No Pirog okay then fight Golovkin and watch Sergio get KTFO.

I think they should wait on a Martinez/Pirog fight.. Let Pirog get a few more fights in, build his name up, and then they could fight as early as next year or so..
