Lol; he's not a fan is he? The Dublin card was **** though, they should be embarrassed over their conditioning, people have enough doubts about their athletic ability as it is. UFC 92 was very good on the other hand.

I'm a big boxing fan and watch MMA casually (all the UFCs) but if I was only a casual fan of both sports and think I'd prefer the UFC (and understand the UFC is not the same as MMA in general but to a lot of fans thats pretty much what it is), its fast moving, slick, the guys you saw winning a show or two ago with be fighting the champ in the next show, no ducking goes on, you can follow the prospects up from TUF etc.

As I say I love boxing but it can be hard work to follow all the politics, stripping of titles, big fights not getting made etc and for a sport to just have a casual interest in, the UFC takes a lot of beating.

UFC is okay, but the Rua v Coleman fight was ridiculous, god awful.

Yep could see that. Being a hardcore MMA fan is probably even more frustrating than boxing, but if your a casual fan the UFC is completely streamlined and you only have to watch it 10 times a year as well.

Don't know if I'd call it fast moving and slick though, not compared to boxing at least.Quick ending and explosive is probably more apt.

Sorry mate, I mean the presenting was slick and fast moving. One fight finishes, they interview the winner, the next fight is announced, highlights are played from the two fighters previous bouts, the fighters walk to the ring and the next fight starts. No messing about.

Yeah. Questionable decisions in boxing will certainly kill mma.

If Dibella wasn't the same guy who is trying so hard to not make Froch v Taylor, then maybe there would be more 'fights like that' in boxing....

The one thing MMA has, that boxing NEEDS to have, is NO DUCKING.

You see top challengers fighting the champs, top challengers against each other, and so on.

The fighters, at this point, still make way less than boxers so it is easier to put on a better overall card. Boxing could well be pricing its way out of the market.

And on another note. I'd be interested in the number of fights that go to the score cards in both. I think the more times you have a clear winner, the better. I don't think Jermain Taylor had a single stop after winning his titles.

    That's a very valid point.

Boxing won't kill MMA, and MMA won't kill boxing. They are two different sports, and there is absolutely no reason why you can't enjoy both.
