No. But in this case it doesn't add up to a genuine offer, mainly due to the enormous sums of money being discussed and the ridiculously tight deadline. Plus the fact that no paperwork has been sent over.

Anyway, they can discuss it all in more detail at the Friday meeting. I assume that's still on, regardless of what happens here.

What does 'accepting' actually mean from a legal perspective though? What penalties does Hearn incur if terms cannot later be agreed upon and he decides to walk away?

If it's merely a verbal acceptance to start negotiations with certain terms already taken as being in place then great, I see no reason not to.

But why the twenty four hour deadline stuff, in that case? What do they hope to gain by forcing his hand like that?

In fact what's stopping both parties from just meeting on Friday as agreed and negotiating from there? If Haymon has the funds available then their side's ability to dictate terms drastically increases anyway.

Right, it's now clear that that isn't the case.

Rummy, you still think this isn't a heap of hooey?

I hope it's not a PR stunt, but Wilder has been running his mouth for so long that I find it difficult to believe anything he says..............
