First I think that this is bull****. Martinez looked like a solid 170 pounds on fight night. He has put a lot of muscles since the first Williams fight. He is a solid MW now and making 154 will be a bit difficult for him and he'll need ti cut down muscles (sexy Sergio has 0% fat!!!). I like Martinez clearing the MW division and fighting Ward down the line when they are both bigger names.

could you elaborate how Jr is going to beat Martinez? He is a big fighter with bad footwork and shitty defense. Martinez is disfiguring top MWs recently and KOing them. He will land his left at will against Jr and nobody at MW can take this hand on regulate basis without being KO/TKOed. Moreover I haven't seen Jr with all his added muscle to seriously hurt a top MW. Man Rubuio gave him a though fight, Sexy will beat the living **** out of Rubio. And Sergio is not going to stand in front of him he is going to turn him all night long and KO him late!

he should stop coming in so light around weigh in, those few extra pounds behind his punch would help get those guys out earlier...he's a short, but solid MW fighter who just happens to keep himself in shape most of the year..

Jr is huge and will walk Sergio down this is not some technical fight I hope it happens. It took Sergio 11 rounds to KO Macklin and Barker

To be fair he fought the first 'small' opponent in ages, Macklin is a former WW/LMW himself, hence Martinez looking 'bigger than usual'. He's just not a solid MW and at this age the body isn't willing to keep the extra muscle mass, that's why the unusual weight training early in camp, which seems counterproductive as far as his speed goes. Either way, it's a good thing he can consider fighting at two weight classes, although getting in the ring vs. a 180lbs Jr. could be considered a 3rd.

You dont KNOW that at all.

We are talking about a significantly bigger man who is a real decent ring general with real physical talent. His style poses a problem. He has some real pop in that left hand, he throws with speed, from unconventional angles that are hard to predict. To compound things further he has great lateral movement and wont simply come forward and engage Floyd on his terms.

It's one thing fighting a bigger man who is relatively crude and slow. It's another fighting a bigger man who has power and the speed and skill to get it on target.

The ability to take a shot, and the impact of a fighters shots often changes significantly from seemingly minor transitions up or down in weightclass. It's not ridiculous to think that Sergio will sneak some of those left hand through and Floyd might find himself hitting the canvas.

Floyd's the best fighter in the world. I think Sergio is a step too far.

Because it took him 11 rounds to KO them we can safely assume he cant knockout Chavez?

That kind of boxing math just doesn't work.

If you watch Sergio you should conclude that he turns it on with a real sense of urgency when he needs to. If Chavez is coming forward and opening up he gives Martinez both the need and the chance to nail him coming in with his timing and speed.

You say that like barker and Macklin aren't good boxers, you have to be brilliant to knock one of them out, let alone both of them, I don't think chavez would be able to knock either of them out, wouldn't be suprised if Barker beat him tbh,

It took the no2 MW 12 rounds to win 4 against Macklin, and Sturm beats Chavez Jr.

Not sure about that. He looked heavier than 154lbs in the build-up IMO. Especially in his workouts.

He does look a tiny bit smaller. Against Barker he was 165. Against Macklin he weighed in at 157 and he looked basically the same. I think he was probably 160-162.
I just speculating. At 162 he can easily make 150.

I don't see why people think martinez is as good as people say.he best in a poor division.macklin and barker gave him problems.ward or mayweather b too good of boxers and make it look easy.chavez v martinez is a good match up.both overated so shoulld b even fight
