Mikey Garcia would hand Dib his ass big time. If he didn't, why didn't Dib want to fight him for the title and he and his team begged Garcia's management through their Aust. contact for Garcia to step aside? FACT :deal Dib talks big, but he and his team know his limitations and there are plenty. Beating second and third-tier Mexicans and an Italian who was all quit and came here for nothing but the purse doesn't constitute being a stellar champion. His trainer Billy H. has hand-picked certain fighters and avoided certain fighters like the plague. Dib is no better than 95% of ABC title holders, they fight the weakest they can find that hopefully sells. Look at the recent times, Juan Ma got turned over by Salido and Dib's calling out Juan Ma the next day. Geez that's brave! Didn't hear him saying, "Hey Salido, let's do a unification."
Look gary russell jnr has potential but his record lacks serious opposition Dibbs fought the better fighters want to see how russell goes when he does not have everything his own way. its easy to look good when your not being punched in the head. Dont underestimate Dibb because i can tell you Russell is'nt. I hope this fight gets made or forced i think dibb can beat him. I am not a real fan of dibb but he is a world champ & should be respected as such.cheers
Well said mate, some of these dickheads have no idea. They don't like a fighter so they seriously devalue there skills. I will repeat NO ONE at feather absolutely steam rolls Dib. They might beat him but it will be a tough fight.
Good as gold Ned. I'd could think of 5-6 that would touch him up no problems. Ask Billy Dib and Billy H. how Celestino Caballero "manhandled" (their words - quote) Dib in sparring in July 2010 and broke Dib's nose for him. Beating c-grade Mexican's and a cat Italian doesn't constitute getting hit by the likes a a-graders in Gamboa, Caballero, Garcia, Gonzalez or Salido who in my opinion, (and I do like to think I know what I'm talking about and are not a dickhead as you put it) would all smash seven shades of **** out of Dib. If it got heavy in there against those guys, Dib might resort to his well documeted, punching on the break, low blows, hitting whilst down, biting or just plain running credentials he has form for in the past. Dib's supporters (who are all only jump on the bandwagon supporters) might see him as some sort of modern version of Naz, but he ain't the top boy at FW and until he beats one of those names, can't claim to be anything but a manufactured ABC titlest (winning a vacant title, not against a proven champion) Leuvano embarrassed and showed up Dib on the world stage like a deer in the headlights. Dib to his credit (and mainly through Billy H's efforts) has rebuilt himself well, but he can't crack the top money or TV opportunities due to that shitty performance. Where were all his hanger on expert supporters when he got shown up badly then? As I said, when he handles one of the top brass at FW I named, well then I'll start being a believer. He's had too many goes talking himself up in the past as some sort of world-stage fighter, he got a shot against Leuvano and failed miserably. Only time will tell if he's truly rebuilt. Edit: I should say, in fairness to Dib, if he steps up and faces Russell in the USA, good luck to him. Russell hasn't fought 12rd'ers and only out of fighting 8 and 10rd'ers against very mediocre opposition, however as it's been on HBO so if Dib was to beat him, obviously that get's him some cache' back over their with the networks and maybe making some bigger fights in the future against the real men at 126lbs. Russell looks to have blinding handspeed but as said, having not fought top-tier opposition or rds, who can tell what his metal inside is all about. He maybe all show and no dough so to speak. As for Cruz, I'm not sold on him and Dib potentially could just outbox him completely. Time will tell...
Bottom line, dickwad, is Dib knows he is average at best therefore he will duck every credible challenge that even vaguely comes his way. You will never see this little ***** get in the ring with the likes of Lopez, Gambo, Caballero, Garcia, John etc, etc and that has everything to do with the fight that he would get his ass handed to him.................brutally!
Manhandled in sparring. Well sparring is the same as fighting isn't it? It's funny, John Solido etc are not unbeatable. Solido has been beaten 8 times for Christ sake. So he beats A severely over rated champ he all of a sudden becomes unbeatable. The guy has no defence. Lopez vs Solido was a war, because they stood and traded like novices. Any top featherweight with good footwork and defence would have beaten them that night. I can't be bothered even responding to you guys. You seriously all live in a fantasy land.
Exactly like I say you could too Ned, living in fantasyland that is. That's the nature of boxing and sport, each form their own opinion. Your opinion differs vastly to mine, no problems at all. You will note I never mentioned Chris John in my list. In my opinion, I think Dib takes Chris. I named you 5-6 fighters who I thought all could handle Dib easily, as you were claiming no one could. Again, we'll agree to disagree. I personally think Dib could take Juan Ma and I do agree with you that Juan Ma is overated, I've actually said that for 2-3yrs, even before Juan Ma won a FW title. Salido is different and he is a tough top-tier Mexican who Billy will try and box, but he is one tough hombre who could wear anything Dib could throw. Again, only my opinion. In response to your "unbeatable" comment, I never claimed Salido, nor the other names I mentioned to be unbeatable did I? You claim fantasyland and you full well could be right and Dib beats any of the names mentioned, but as it stands, you make no case bar being dismissive of any response to your original statements. I would hazard a guess, 95% of people following boxing would agree with me that the names I mentioned would all give Billy a hard fight at the least, or a beating, but if I'm proven wrong, no problems at all also, nature of the fight game to pick some/lose some. This is a forum for discussion or views. I've answered your comments yet your now taking your bat and ball and going home because someone disagreed with you. As for "manhandled", you can take that as fact as the word came out of both Billy's mouths how the sparring went. Caballero was all over Dib like a $2 hooker - FACT.
But do you really think dib will test russells "metal" ? Dib isnt top tier imo, the only guy proven to be all show and no dough is dib.
Jet I'm with you and nowhere did I say was Dib top-tier did I? Hence my earlier comments in the thread that if it get's too hard for Dib, he can resort to previous 'form'. However keeping some context to the discussion, I'm only stating some obvious questions that could be asked of Russell. Mate he looks good thus far and yes, quite rightly could be the real deal and on the up. As I always say, time will tell... Jet you of all people should know me better than that to think I'd be convinced of Dib's intestinal fortitude when under the pump...
